This hydrometer is fragile. While attempting to clean it after the first and only use, I crushed it between my index finger and thumb. Yes you read that correctly. The pressure of my index finger and thumb crushed the thin glass half way up the scale portion of the instrument.Other than that it was easy to use and easy to read. I cannot comment on the accuracy of this instrument. I would not buy this again

The hydrometer worked well and was easy to use after I got online and read how to use a hydrometer. It would have been nice to have a little instruction card in the box telling me how to use it. Once I discovered that it just floats in the liquid, and Inhad to look at it to take a reading, I felt pretty dumb.

Delivery came before scheduled and I loved it. The product didn’t come with instructions but google is available to all so I watched videos on how to use this alcohol reader ;-). It works perfectly fine. It is each to clean and also comes with a case for storing the item and keeping it from breaking. It was a good buy! I will upload a video of how I used it.

Pros: Affordable, Works as it shouldCons: FragileReceived very fast and intact, thanks to the very good packaging of the product. Precision is good for spirits. Easy to read numbers. (Must take note that this is calibrated for 60oF or 15oC, you must convert accordingly)

I am salting out isopropyl alcohol for reuse after dilution with water. I wondered whether this low-cost hydrometer would be accurate enough for my purposes and easy to read. It was on both counts.

The best alcometer for a home distiller or someone who wants to just check proof of products.But very fragile all it takes is a drop from any height and it will shatter.

This is just as described! good quality, works perfectly . . . except that I misunderstood that the Amaro I am making is a fermented drink, not strictly distilled, because water and simple syrup is added (and many other ingredients as well)! So actually I can't use it to test the ABV% as I thought. I mistakenly thought that because it is made with distilled grain alcohol, (with roots, herbs, citrus added), that it was a distilled spirit. I did test some distilled liquor (such as gin) that I have and the readings matched the percentage listed on the bottle. It was easy to use. I found an mathematical equation to figure out the ABV of my Amaro, once it's finished.

Very easy to use and quite accurate. Did not realize this hydrometer did not measure alcohol proof/percent when sugar was added.
