The fin will increase drive and provide directional control through turns, without sacrificing speed, flow, or the freedom of movement typically associated with a quad. The “KNUBSTER” is designed with a single tab that allows the fin to be positioned in the forward and rear center plug to cater for the individual drive requirements of each surfer. The FCS VS KNUBSTER, is 3 3/4” by 2” high. According to Kelly Slater's report, “The KNUBSTER makes your quad set-up feel faster, smoother, and it adds a little more control. It just tightens everything it up a bit”.

Cheapest stabilizer fin out there for FCS/FCSII setups. Put it in the front tab for a little more stability and the rear for more hold. This also helps when you’re trying to dial in your main fin setup and the new fins are just a little too loose. Use it on a mid length with Mick Fanning twins; they have a lot of lift and decent drive but were releasing a little too easy. The center that came with the set stiffened the board up too much so this was just the ticket.

Adds a little extra stability and hold to a twin setup. My main gripe is that it should be dual tab. The knub can tilt forward and backward in everything but original FCS I boxes.

The perfect way to get more drive and pivot out of a twin! Also using it on another board where it allowed me to run smaller quad fins plus this one in a 5 fin setup, super fast and fun hybrid.

I read some not-so-good reviews on this fin but decided to purchase it anyway, mainly based on the low sticker-price, and it is made by a reputable fin company (Rainbow Fins). I purchased it for use in my retro-style twin fin fish, which is not really how it is advertised (it is sold as a 5th fin in your quad-fin set-up), however it fit the bill as a very small single-plug center fin. It works really good, adding just a little tightness in smaller, mushy east-coast surf, which is exactly what I was looking for. The only thing that might improve the ride is if the plug was set slightly forward on the fin so it will sit directly below the area between my 2 fin plugs when inserted in the front fin plug, which is where it should sit if you are looking to use it as a stabilizer in your twin-fin, as the shaper intended. As-is it sits just a little too far forward. The KP-N1 may fit this bill.

Really dig this fin. Only one of it's kind so the only option for providing a little extra stability for a quad. Price tag is kinda steep considering it's such a small piece of plastic, but it serves a good purpose. Side benefit is you can opt to put it in the front FCS tab or the rear one and it has a different feeling in each.

Fit is perfect. Works as a mini stabilizer for the board. A bit overpriced. The fin can help but is not necessary to make the board perform. Thats up to the individual surfer.

I recieved this yesterday and I was very dissapointed with the quality. It's a very simple plastic part so you wouldn't think there would be issues with it right ?The fin is pieced together in two plastic halves, they were melded together all out of whack so the halves do not line up therefore the peg that plugs into your FCS fin hole is not square (it's warped) and it won't fit in the surfboard. I'm returning this for a refund, junk quality

I was riding a Starr Rocket quad fin setup, and had a free fin box, so I decided to purchase this and see how the feel was. It is phenomenal. If you are riding mushy waves and the quad just doesn't have quite enough drive, this is for you. The Knubster fin will add just the right touch of drive and anchor to your quad. I went out two days in a row, one day with a quad, the next with this and the quad setup, and I noticed the difference immediately. As I said, I think this will make a great addition to any quad fin setup. Happy Surfing.Keep in mind, if you are a beginner, you will probably not notice the difference immediately because you wouldn't be as "in tune" with the board, so to speak, to realize it straight away. If you are a beginner, I recommend a longboard or funboard as a starting shape, depending on how tall you are and how much you weigh.
