This is is split, this i would say is a great part. I used this on a head rebuild; head was resurface flat, valves guides seals. New head bolts, correct torque and sequence. Lasted one week and blew out. Cannot say it was caused by the gasket; as it the autopsy will tell if its the block/surface.
