From the Manufacturer

There’s no denying the allure of a roasted maple neck. Resistant to humidity shifts and featuring a gorgeous, dark look, they have more sustain and add a unique note to the instrument’s voice. This genuine Fender Telecaster neck is crafted at our Ensenada, Mexico manufacturing facility. Featuring a “60’s C” neck profile and 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets, for modern playing feel. The synthetic bone nut is pre-slotted with "pilot" grooves for accurate spacing when filing the final string slots. The perfect way to give your Strat® authentic Fender feel, this replacement neck even sports our famous “spaghetti” logo on the headstock. Because Fender genuine replacement necks have not been mounted to guitar bodies, nut slots must be cut by qualified personnel. Other installation processes may be required, such as fret work, fitting the neck to the neck pocket, and other instrument setup procedures. Your local FMIC Authorized Service Center can install genuine replacement necks; find locations near you in the “Support” section of fender.com.

These are GREAT necks! The quality is amazing. The frets require no additional work, they're level and well crowned at the edges. I chose the roasted maple neck due to the fact that they're approximately a pound lighter than you're average fender maple neck, which is a blessing when you have a bad back and are building guitars as light as possible without neck dive! I highly recommend Fender's MIM roasted maple necks.

Chipped poly on the fretboard, crazy amounts of fret sprout and bad fretwork. Giant knot in the wood right in the middle of the neck. Definitely received a b-stock or returned product. Amazon refused to replace and would only refund even though price had gone up since I purchased. They then made me wait almost a month to receive my refund. Would not buy here.

For the price i expect better. Nut was brittle and when filed fell apart.

I'm returned this immediately after arrival. I understood that I would need to have some work done to get this fit right but the amount of fret sprout on this new roasted maple neck was not something I anticipated. Both sides of the fret board had at least a half dozen sharp edges. The quality of the wood blank used was not up to my expectations for the price. If I were paying less I'd be fine with this but the quality is not up to the price tag in this case. Was excited to receive this item, but unfortunately it's resulted in a disappointing purchase.

My first order cracked when installing tuners (so thankful for Amazon's great return policy) open a return request and was sent a replacement. Ended up nicely on my Esquire build.

Awesome neck. Be aware that as stated, the nut is slotted but not really cut. If you want something that is bolt on and play look for a new used neck from one of the companies that disassemble new guitars and sell the parts. If you can properly slot the nut this this is the way to go. Love the roasted maple look.
