The 7mm Spiral Drill Bit with Centrotec Shank provides a precise, compact, and durable solution for drilling wood, metal, and plastic. Precision-ground HSS steel stays sharp longer for precise hole drilling and a long service life. Centrotec shank can also be used with all standard three-jaw chucks for no-slip performance. The Festool Centrotec System is designed to deliver a better transfer of force between the drill and the bit, with no chance for bit slippage or marring of the drill bit. The Centrotec Chuck design enables a full 1/2 pound reduction in weight, and reduces the overall length, or clearance, by nearly 1-1/2 inches. Festool bits are SHARP and durable. I like the finish on the holes and the size is spot-on. They are NOT cheap, but I've had some well over 10 years and they are good as new after sharpening. Really good steel. I especially like their brad-point wood drills. They are exceptional, performing better than a premium set I purchased back when USA drills were top-notch. I which there were more sizes available. I cheat some holes by substituting metric drills which fall between the imperial sizes. Works great for wood where you can afford a little slop. They do not import imperial size standard twist drills, only the brad-point wood drills.

This is the worst drill bit I have ever used. It failed to cut anything, right out of the box. This bit is labeled for metal cutting, but failed to cut .7mm thick sheet steel, even with a pilot hole 90% of the diameter. A bargain-bin, used bit cut the same material instantly.

6 stars actually. this is the best drill bit ever. the extra fine brad point tip makes the hole placement very accurate. drilling process is smooth, and does not chip around the edges at all!If only all products had this good of a quality...
