I find the product very good for the price.I test 0.001 " run out

For the price I cannot believe the TIR. I measured .0006 TIR. I was expecting a few thousandths and the need to fine machine the part into the range of a few tenths, but this thing out of the box was there! Mabe I was lucky but thats the result.

I returned this as it had .005" of runout in the collet seat taper. The point of a collet chuck is accuracy. I ended up buying a True-Set collet chuck.

The chuck appears to be finely finished and good quality, but there is some run out. First I had to adjust the three 5/8" mounting studs for my lathe. The run out on the outer edge of the flange was 0.006", so I removed the chuck and rotated it 1/3 turn and tested the run out again and now the run out is down to just 0.002". So it looks like there is some.run out in my lathe head stock and the collet chuck. I also checked the run out using a cheap 3/4" collet, I mounted a piece of 3/4" stock and made a cleaning cut to true up the stock, the a verified the run out which should be zero.and it was, so then I loosened collet and rotated the collet 180 degrees, while the stock stayed fixed in the collet and checked the run out again. This time the run out should have stayed zero but it was now 0.006" out. It appears the cheap collets I have are junk. So I can not give a accurate evaluation until my new collets arrive and I test them. But we can conclude that the chuck will have some runout because the run out changed when it was reinstalled in the lathe a d rotated 1/3 turn.

Looks pretty well made overall. The only complaint is why do you send an ER25 spanner wrench with a ER32 collet chuck? They do not work together. Thankfully I have several ER32 wrenches from other tools.
