I returned a few dedicated yogurt strainers as being too messy, too hard to clean and store, and not dishwasher safe. This is the solution.The 9.84" fits perfectly in my 11" Pyrex mixing bowl, with about an 1" of space underneath for the whey. It holds 2 quarts of 11-hour Instant Pot yogurt with a little room to spare. Overnight in the fridge produces Greek yogurt that scoops like soft ice cream. The whey had very little milk solids using the colander alone without filter paper or paper towels. Very easy to spoon the yogurt into storage containers, then colander and bowl go straight into the dishwasher.I also used it as a straight up colander during holiday meal prep. A++

I had already had another small strainer with a single handle but I didn’t like setting it in the bottom of my sink to strain pasta (because who knows if my sink is that clean?) or having to strain into a bowl (because who want to wash an extra item?).I saw this strainer on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I love that it has feet on the bottom to keep the pasta water from touching the sink. It’s the perfect size for straining 5oz of cooked pasta for making a macaroni salad for our family of three adults and still have leftovers.

I’m a huge colander user & own many.I like the large surface area of this one so fruits (especially berries) and vegetables can be spread out for thorough washing.I wish it had feet that raised it higher out of sink water where I wash it. I solve this by placing the colander on a down-turned bowl in the sink, but would certainly be preferable with raised feet.

Odd use here, but, I use this outside for bird seed. It raises the seed off the ground slightly, allows rain water to seep through the fine mesh but contains the bird seed and is still relatively shallow, and it's really easy to keep clean regularly (soak and hand wash or dishwasher). It's lightweight and solves a need we have keeping wild birds fed and healthy but I am certain it would also make a great strainer if used as intended, just make sure you consider how deep you need it to be because this one is shallow. Truly a simple product that can fit many uses!

This sieve works for all sorts of task. I use it to wash rice, clean produce etc. You can even use it to steam your veggies.
