I had purchased this unit and had an issue with the igniter. I reached out to the company and they quickly sent me out another igniter , and it is back up and running. Love accompany that stands behind their product but more importantly , this unit works exceptionally better than I thought. I do recommend that you get a deflector shield if you're in windy areas. But overall exceptional quality

I love this heater. The original heating assembly’s igniter failed after a few days. I could light it with a stick lighter. After contacting Fire Sense, they sent a replacement heating assembly’s igniter failed free of charge. The new one works great. I can stay on my deck in 35° weather with no issues at all.

This made a fantastic addition to my screen porch, extending our season of outdoor enjoyment. It heats just as well as the propane one I had before and is so much more convenient. I hired a company to run the gas line and install. Everything works perfectly. My only issue was that it had TWO labels that identified it as propane, which it obviously wasn’t. But my contractor balked for a while and I had to convince them to go ahead with the installation.

The price for a natural gas heater is fantastic. The dish at the top is a bit flimsy, not sure how it will hold to sever winds, but the tube is solid. The base also is not a giant solid base, however, a couple of methods can be used. This unit replaced one from another seller, that stopped working soon after purchase. I expected more from it because it cost 3 times as much, and the construction was heavier. So, Even if this one doesn't last too long, the price I paid should be recovered after a few uses. Propane can be costly. Also, the rating on this unit is brought down by folks that gave one star because it wasn't propane. Duh, it says natural gas.

This seems like a quality item and puts out good heat. As other reviews have stated, you'll need to buy your own gas line which adds an additional $25+ to the cost. Also, as a natural gas heater, it doesn't have the wide propane tank base to sit on and has to be permanently installed with large bolts into a concrete patio, or use the included stakes to temporarily stake it down in the grass. I devised a spare patio umbrella stand to make it somewhat moveable, but this is a big miss with this product.

Arrived missing some parts for assemble which arrived a week later by post. control knob broke apart upon first use, new knob arrived a week later. The base is poorly designed, it must be screwed into wood or cement deck which limits ability to move around. would not buy another

I have both natural gas (this product) and Propane equivalent Patio Heaters....same dimensions. When used outdoors at 45 degree temperature, you literally have to be sitting right next to this product to feel the heat. You can sit 10 feet away from propane equivalent and feel the heat. Great concept.....not so great performance.

We’re on our second year using the heater and are quite please. I only used two of the post sections for sitting under and bolted it to a cast iron weight plate for portability with an extension gas hose to the BBQ outlet. I got a deflector from Amazon that works great to keep the flame from drifting in the breeze and focus the heat. We use it around our spa and on the patio all winter. No issues with burner or igniter… on our second winter.

Great quality, solid, very good output. I got tired of swapping propane tanks and wanted a slimmer profile Natural Gas unit, which are harder to find and often very pricey. I found this at a great price (most I saw were over $400, many over $1,000...) this lists for about $400 but was on sale for less than half that. I would have been happy even at full price. Well packaged, assembly wasn't bad, under an hour and decent instructions, included fasteners (several options, really...concrete, ground stakes, etc.) Photo has cover (not included) for winter but head unit is clean and we'll made, not cheap "value" brand, feels more like commercial grade. Good controls, tall, lights consistently, very happy with it. Definitely needs to be mounted, would be too tippy without being secured due to small footprint (also a plus for me, not wasting space), I just used four 3/16" lag screws into my deck. Once mounted, very secure, no chance of tipping or blowing over even in strong winds. Only shortcoming is the dome at the base is pretty lightweight plastic, but may be better than metal in bad weather (could have been a little beefier...). All in all, very satisfied, exceeded expectations.

I tested the unit before applying the deflector. This unit almost burned my hand upon igniting. I had to shut off the gas and blow out the flames myself.Forget about this being a huge waste of money and requiring extra solutions for the base (even more out of pocket cost) - it is dangerous!! It is not well made and I would be concerned for any one’s health. This is a poorly designed fire hazard. It literally burned its own components up in smoke and endangered my safety. What you’re seeing in the pics - those are flames coming out through the knob.I followed the instructions to the letter - there is no assembly needed above the posts and below the deflector.

Be have bought 2 ... and will be buying a 3rd. Very easy to assemble. Good quality. Pumps out the heat 🔥 . I laser cut a wide stainless base because I didn't want to lag anything into my deck. I also left the center section out on the one to keep it lower (personal preference).

It is much more substantial than I thought it would be although the aluminum deflector plate is very thin and could get bent easily if something hits it. The pole sections had a substantial amount of thread so they must have improved the design from earlier models. I was going to use a steel umbrella base to mount it to but was worried about rust and I didn't want to drag a concrete base across my brick patio so I found a 35lb rubber barbell at Academy and drilled small pilot holes and mounted the heater base using 3/8" stainless lag screws. I also left out one of the three 20" pole sections as suggested by another reviewer since we'll be sitting under it. It heats great! I would definitely buy it again. EDIT: At first I tightened the screws that hold the deflector sections together with a wrench but it would make ticking and popping sounds as it was heating up and cooling down so I loosened them to just hand tight so now it expands and contracts silently.

I had this delivered about a week ago. It took me about an hour to assemble. Pretty easy assembly. Note you will probably want to play (bend) the top heat shield some as it wasn't totally cylindrical when I was finished. I had to bend the reflector panels somewhat to make it so. Not a big deal. This fired right up upon attaching it to the NG. Be sure to use some nylon tape around your connector grooves to assure you have no leaks. I got about a 10' radius of heat from it. With 40's degree temps I could wear a long sleeve shirt and still be warm. The only thing I think that would make this better is it needs a weighted base for stability. Mine is under a covered patio but still a good wind would knock it over and your reflector is not repairable. I am having to devise a weighted base to support it. Something with wheels for portability would be great. But overall a solid unit, works well and having it NG is a huge plus. You can run this for hours for very little cost (about $.50 an hour) whereby a propane one you will only get about 10 hours out of it. My wife is happy and outdoors with me during the cold winter days!
