Don't waste the $ these do not perform as described. Soft metal and takes more work than just splitting with a maul. Great concept; poor product.

I really wanted to like this tool, but it just didn't work for me.I had some already split campfire wood for the test. Unfortunately, the tool just doesn't work for me. I was starting the tool into the wood about 1/2 inch from the split edges of the piece. I was driving the tool with a Ryobi impact screw gun which will drive a 3" deck screw completely through a deck. The tool would dig into the wood until the impact would not drive it any longer, but the wood refused to split.Maybe it would work better on soft woods. I don't know. I returned it.

The bit has a screw in shank to suit various drill chucks. The problem is if the bit becomes stuck you can't reverse the drill to remove it. The bit is a good value if you are able to weld the drill shank to the bit.

This thing is perfect for when you buy chunks of wood for use in a smoker and sometimes a few of the chunks are too big to put into the wood chunk holder so this thing is nice for making those a bit smaller so you can use all the wood you bought since you know you skip those when the bag is fresh but you get to the point that you have no more smaller ones so now what? Put this thing on the end of your IMPACT driver and hold that piece of wood with a vice grip or channel lock and BOOM... smaller pieces of wood perfect for the smoker.

Not sure if our drill is too powerful or the wood is too hard, but this totally didn’t work as expected. We attached it to our drill but it just gets stuck in the wood-over and over. And it kills your hands to get it back out. And when it doesn’t get stuck, it over spins and goes flying out of your hands. We had to keep taking the bit out of the drill and knocking it out of the wood. Super disappointed as it would have been nice to have an easier way to get kindling. Our axe is heavy for me to use

First its way, way, too small to be used as suggested.Second it only drills in and get stuck!Third, you cant keep it from loosening in the drill.Fourth, when you tighten it down with a wrench, reference above, it locks down way too tight from the pressure spin. Then you cant remove it because you cant grip it with anything.Fifth, you will hurt your wrist! Once it gets stuck, AND IT WILL, it will spin the wood and you cant hold it!It's still attached to the largest bit, because I cant get the SOB loose!I spent about 30 minutes trying variations, angles, and speeds... I have yet to split a single piece of wood. Beyond WORTHLESS for splitting wood, PERIOD!
