I know that many experienced Gold Bug 2 users prefer the 6" coil. My favorite is the 10" because:* Still extremely light for all-day use* Goes deeper on larger nuggets, yet still sensitive enough to find pinhead-sized gold* Covers more ground at a timeI have extensively used all three Gold Bug 2 coils and my best and biggest finds are with the 10" and the 14".
