Very well made, but it completely fits into a five gallon bucket with inches all around. In fairness, I do not have an accurate way to measure the exact capacity, but it seems very unlikely that if this were a solid cylinder that it would hold five gallons of water.

Seems well made, but the 5 gallon size is smaller than a 5 gallon bucket by a few inches each way.

has a weighted bottom so it sinks down into the water and keeps the live bait alive longer. Could use an additional line to tie off at the dock or whatever you're dropping the basket from so plan to have a few clips and nylon line to add so you can lower the bait motel into the water. Also I only have used live shrimp so can not rate if you're using any other live bait for your motel.

I mistakenly thought it would be as big as a 5 gallon bucket. No way this is 5 gallon like the description. It's maybe as big as 2 milk jugs. Nice and sturdy mesh though

This item came highly recommended to me by an avid fisherman. I was skeptical - cause it looked kinda flimsy. Immediately tried it out with a handful of finger mullet. We went out of town for 2 weeks and forgot about it, LOL. Came back and those mullet were still alive and very active. Highly recommend to keep your mullet alive.
