This hat is a bit heavy. The brim has been stiffen with something. It might be some kind of closed cell foam. It arrived folded and those folds will be there forever (plus whatever new ones develop from normal use.)The head covering part has an inner and an outer layer of fabric which are separate from each other. Only the outer layer has the small metal "vents. The inner layer lacks them. Consequently this isn't really a "breathable" hat and is not a great hat for a hot summer day. Your head will be hot and sweaty with this hat on.The drawstring is made of what could pass for old fashioned shoelace material that would have been found on running shoes in the seventies. Unlike better quality hats the drawstring doe not go around the rear of one's head. It is only under the chin.The snaps on the brim are slightly off centre and, unfortunately, one of the snaps on my hat is defective. It is missing the small wires that catch on the groove of the other part of the snap.The hat size is not adjustable and will be loose fitting on anyone with a head smaller than 23 inches in circumference.Okay hat if money is an issue or you have the same problem that I do with sunglasses. If I buy expensive sunglasses, I wind up destroying them within a month but cheap sunglasses last forver.

I like the concept of the boonie hat- scrunch it up, okay if it gets wet, it's there to protect you from the sun. It came packed flat in a box, I was surprised, but it came out looking like the photos showed. One curious detail is that the crown has four mesh vents, as well as a full lining. We get sand gnats at certain times of year where we are and they love to get in your hair and bite, so a hat is a necessity for them, also.Having a full brim is good, because it protects from the sun all around, unlike a baseball cap. If it's really windy there is a strap with a cinch tie, and if it's not sunny you can snap the brim up out of the way. It really is a versatile type of hat and I'm glad to have it.As to size, I wrapped a piece of string around my head and measured it at 22-1/2 inches, which is on the smaller end of the size range of 22-23.6 inches, and it fits nicely.

This hat seems well made. I use it while swimming to keep the sun off my head and out of my eyes.It dries quickly and folds up flat to take very little room in a suitcase.

Not a lot you can say about a hat, but I'll say this... It's lightweight, good looking, and does a great job of keeping the sun off of you. I also love how breathable it is! I don't get as warm in this hat as I have with others.You just can't beat it for the price! Highly recommend! 👍👍

I wasn't expecting much from this cheap hat, but it has impressed me. I have an Under Armour boonie hat and another brand boonie hat I use for mowing and outdoor activities. This one is going in the rotation. I really like that this hat is more rigged than the others. My others are very floppy and fall down on my ears and face. This one holds it shape and can be buttoned to the sides as well. I think I like it more than the others. Time will tell though. At the moment I give it 5 stars.
