This 2 pack of rod holders does not come with mounts but that's OK with me because they fit my existing Scotty mounts that I added to my kayak with no problem. They look identical to my other rod holder and adjust the same way. I will be adding friction lock discs to them to 'fine tune' the angle that the rod sticks out on my kayak. I like having all my rod holders the same and they fit my fresh water rods A-OK.

My Scotty rod holder works great for my bait cast rod and fly rod. Both fit in it nicely, so when I saw I could get these and they fit in the Scotty mount, I had to get them. It's nice to have a back-up, in case I misplace or forget the one I have. I also have a second Scotty mount, so I'm able to keep one on my other fishing kayak. If you already have a Scotty mount, get these.

Huntury Fishing Rod Holder - No Mount Included, Compatible with Scotty Accessories, Quick-Release Strap, Pack of 2: Out of the box these look and feel sturdy and durable. I like the fact that this is offered as a 2 pack. Will update review once I’ve had the opportunity to test them out on my kayak.

These are of decent build quality and should hold up. They are not on the level of a Scotty rod holder but they are much cheaper as well. The size and ease of use are nice. I don’t love the locking feature as it’s opposite of Scotty’s and it doesn’t lock into the Scotty base and easily picks up but won’t fall out unless at the perfect angle. But they still worry me about it coming out of the base even though it shouldn’t happen. I use these when I have extra people in the boat and use less expensive rods in those holders just in case.

We go out on the kayaks frequently to go fishing and these rod holders are a game changer. I put a different holder on my kayak last year and it broke off within a month. Easy installation, sturdy, and well made. They don't feel flimsy compared to others we've used. I love having the option to troll (I have peddles in my yak) and cast at the same time.

This two pack of fishing rod holders is just what I wanted for my new pontoon boat. The holders are well made and slot easily into Scotty mounts and bases (sold separately). The strap that holds the rod in place is easily hooked and unhooked. The base of the rod holder has a small slot that keys into the Scotty mount and holds the rod holder securely. It is just as easily removed from the holder.

The rod holders themselves are a solid product, especially for the cost. Fully adjustable and can mount on either side of the bracket. A fish would bteak your rod before it breaks this rod holder. HOWEVER, these do not fit huntury rail systems. These are made for Scotty accessory mounts. Just keep that in mind for those of you who are starting to deck your boat out, and are looking at what mounts to buy etc. For these to fit a Huntury rail system, you will also need a kayak rail adapter, which I have not been able to find being sold by Huntury as of today. These are not just "compatible" with Scotty mounts. They're designed for them.

These are great for most peoples boats as the flexibility means I can easily integrate them into my existing setup without any hassle. Whether you’re using spinning or baitcaster rods, these holders accommodate both styles seamlessly, making them versatile for various anglers. It allows for easy and secure rod placement, ensuring that my rods stay securely in place when I’m paddling or maneuvering. When it’s time to cast, I can quickly and smoothly release the rod without any fumbling, which is crucial for those moments when a fish takes the bait unexpectedly. The construction of the Huntury rod holders feels robust and reliable. They hold the rods securely, even in choppy waters, so I don’t have to worry about my gear getting tossed around while I’m kayaking. The material used is durable and resistant to the elements, ensuring that these holders will last through many fishing outings.
