Easily breaks, the accessories are hollow and a light weight plastic that easily crushes (like a disposable water bottle). The concept is cute, and my son loves it. as he is a huge space fan. But the pieces keep getting tossed due to getting crunched.

This set comes with many different pieces for lots of pretend play ideas. There’s actually more in the set than is listed in the items description above. One of the additional items is a foldable paper play mat… Nothing fancy, but colorful, fun, and extends the play area if the child wants to. Another thing that’s extra is there are some cardboard pop outs that have cardboard supports to keep them standing up, a couple of them have pictures of a spaceman in space and the other four are different colored planets…just another little way to expand the creativity and “playability” of the set. There’s a rounded lunar pod, I guess I would call it, that one of the seated astronauts can fit in (It’s named a space re-entry module on the box). Some of the components do require assembly as noted on the instructions. I found the instructions to be adequate along with looking at the pictures that are on the box that item came in, and I would disagree that they are only in Chinese as one reviewer stated. There are a few stickers that need to be placed and are of good quality… more of a lighter vinyl than a paper, and they’re easily placed in the right areas; plenty of room for fingers and ways to tell what the middle point is so that they go on easily. One thing to note is that the four astronauts are molded, so they do not move. There are two small rectangular stickers that I couldn’t figure out where they go - I think they go on the rectangular box showing in the Space Station Control Room pic in the lower left corner but I haven’t checked that out yet. Many of the pieces that come with this set could be used by children of any age, toddler to whatever, but I think a couple of these pieces are more suited for kids around six or seven (maybe 4 or 5 depending on the child) as they can be manipulated and younger children might find this frustrating because things might come apart or not stay together the way they would want them to, whereas I think the older children would find it as a more realistic experience, and would like that.

This would be perfect but when the head is open it falls over which means the child cannot play with it open. The instructions to put it together are in Chinese and there is no video anywhere to show you how to put it together. We have this for our pre k children to play with during our space week and we cannot use it the way it was intended.
