Here are the main reasons why I got the strut brace:- Positive feedback from other Outback owners- My Outback has developed occasional interior creaking after coilovers installation, I guess due to the higher spring rate stressing more the strut towers.- Strut Tower Brace is generally beneficial to all MacPherson type vehiclesGen 5 chassis flex is only minor (nothing like the Gen 4) and surely is not be a problem for casual driving. It can be felt more after the lift or if you like spirited driving.I have bought this brace, I can recommend it although I think any piece of metal would work. The installation (4 top strut nuts remove - reinstall) takes no more than 2-5 minutes, including the sticker. Remember the torque of the top strut nut is 14.5 lb-ft. If you don't have a torque wrench, it's like a small Terrier pulling on a trouser leg.My conclusion:✅ The ride has transformed A LOT for the better, the frontend feels like one piece, now all the hard work is being done by the suspension.✅ Outback stopped sort of diving-in to the curves and wobbling in them on a less than perfect surface. It behaves differently now so you'll re-learn how you were used to turn into your favorite curves. It's quite interesting, definitely feels safer and more stable. I wonder if the backend isn't lacking in that department now. But haven't seen a rear strut brace for Gen 5 yet.✅ Some people say it won't do anything in a straight line. I disagree because road imperfections are everywhere and all eventually affect chassis behaviour transmitting to the cabin.✅ There are zero interior creaks now!! That's huge!!!✅ The perfect / easiest mod for $200 you can do yourself.✅ I highly recommend it, now it's a must have for me once I have felt the difference!

Black finish and pretty welding blend right in with 2019 Outback engine compartment. Super easy install with 12mm short extended socket wrench. Job took 5-10 minutes. Buy the red one if you want it to standout. No loss of smooth city ride. Will be taking on unimproved roads on backpacking trip coming soon. I expect all late model cars with MacPherson struts to have tower braces from the factory - this corrects a flex issue when hitting bumps or rough road surfaces or hard cornering.

Quick 5 min installation, torqued to 14.5 ft lbs was enough. Noticed that the front was more responsive and less body roll when driving highway speeds. Would recommend adding this and swapping the rear sway bar to a 19mm for less body roll and less tail wiggle during highway speeds.

Fit perfectly on my 2015 3.6R Outback. Body roll is reduced and steering response improved. Have the 19mm rear sway bar as well and coupled with this I've gotten my Outback's handling characteristics to where I wanted them. One of the easiest installs I've ever done. Wish I didn't have to put the decal on myself though :P

Installed an SSD Performance Strut Tower Brace after installing a 19mm Rear Sway Bar replacement for the 16mm that came on my 2019 Outback with 2.5i engine. I believe both products are real upgrades to the vehicle's suspension and over-all ride quality. Very happy with the construction of this product, ease of installation and the fantastic support provided by SSD Performance.

I wanted a shock tower brace as an option if I bought a new Subaru since those are listed with some models. Subaru does not have one for my 2017 Outback 2.5i Ltd. we just purchased, and I found this one. I ordered and installed it soon after I bought the car, so I cannot give “before and after” driving impressions, just the after. The car handles well and is very stable in town and on the highway, so that is good. SUPER easy to install and a perfect fit. Glad I have it. I found 14.5 ft lbs. as the shock tower nut torque spec.
