Even though this tool is a little pricey it was an absolute cake walk getting the seal out. The reason it’s so expensive is because it’s a few cnc machined chunks of hardened steel that are then anodized. I didn’t understand until I received the tool. I was expecting a cheap cast/pot metal tool. Boy was I wrong. This thing weighs like 5lbs! I’ve done the whole 2 screws into the seal and pry it out deal before, but when you don’t have a ton of room you can mess things up quick(scratch the crank/mar or crack the front cover/etc.) this thing made easy work of the seal with zero risk of damaging anything. Would recommend even for a diesel tech.

This seal removal tool works awesomely!It works like a giant power steering pully puller tool. Grabs the inner lip of the seal and pulls it out with minimal effort, even if the seal has been in the engine for 300K miles!One of the best tools purchased.

Love this tool. Worth every penny. Watch videos of the other way to remove the front main seal. Other ways takes a long time, you risk scratching the locations where the seal seats. The hardest part was just getting the tool around the seal but it pulled the seal out with absolutely no struggle. It took about a minute once I got the tool on. Highly recommended. Seriously watch YouTube of someone removing that seal without this tool. It looks like a pain in the neck.
