The Ahrex Flexistripper - is an easy-to-use alternative to a traditional stripping basket. Compared the Flexistripper features no sides, but has other advantages over the traditional basket. We'd like to offer a little advice on how to get the most out of your Flexistripper.PLACEMENTFor a right handed caster the most natural placement of the Flexistripper will be slightly to the left, and for a left handed caster slightly to the right. How much depends on personal preference, and in strong sidewind, you can move the Flexistripper further to the side to keep it out of the wind.Under normal conditions the belt is carried around the hip. When wading deeper, simply move the belt up on your torso until the Flexistripper clears the water. The flexible high quality neoprene belt makes this possible with no or very little adjustment.USEAs you retrieve line, simply let go of it over the FlexiStripper. The long flexible pegs will catch the loops of line.If the line hangs over the sides of the FlexiStripper, just let it - the flexible pegs will still release the line with very little resistance. You should let the first strip of line land on the water - this ensures that the first piece of line doesn't tangle when you make your next cast.ASSEMBLINGThe base-plate itself comes without the pegs installed, but all you need to do is cut the flexible pegs from the molding off at the base with a sharp utility knife.Insert the flexible pegs into the holes in the Flexistripper base (from the bottom of the Flexistripper, obviously) and pull them up until the hemispherical butt end is in contact with the plate.Don't glue them in case one needs replacement as some point.Adjust the length of the belt and feed it through the two rectangular holes on the Flexistripper. That's it - ready to fish!IMPORTANT TIP!If the Flexistripper spikes for some r

Works well. Packs flat in luggage and pops back up. Needs to be stored so the pins are straight up. Keeps the fly line out of the Seaweed.

I fish in the surf and prior to this product I would use ones with walls that would fill up with water anytime I'd take a wave, even if I drilled draining holes. This thing eliminates that problem, crazy light weight and the belt is very comfortable.

Flyline gets hung up on bottom when pins work loose. Despite using superglue to keep them in. Overall good product, and way better than the baskets.

What a brilliant product ! Im very happy with how it works and feels. I own a maximum catch stripping bucket that I have been using for a while and for the most part am happy with it but felt like I sort had to aim to the bucket while stripping to make it work properly which was a bit cumbersome at times. Plus the high sides make it awkward at times to do nice big strippes. I looked at the design of the flexistripper and believed it would it would be better, I wasn't disappointed ! It really is more of a stripp and forget design, plus the lower profile makes it way easier make big strips without your hand hitting the side of a "basket" you simply can just brush the top of the spikes and let go its that easy !

PROS - Light weight and easy to use. It keeps the line out of rocks and I don't step on the line in the waves or tide changes.CONS - It is not perfect. I still get tangles 10% to 20% of the time. I will not change my line stripping techniques to lay the line perfectly in the Flexistripper to help prevent the tangles. Very pricey for what you get. It should include a lot more extra "spikes" because if you don't cut them perfectly from the group you can't use it. NO assembly instructions included or tips on how to cut the spikes and install them. I mean really how much effort would it take to make that video and include the link in the package. For $60, that should be includedOVERALL I will live with the tangles 1 out of 10 casts or 1 out of 5 casts because it is perfect the rest of the time.

I purchased this after seeing the owner of Sunray fly fishing with a similar product and hearing him talk about the benefits of this type of “basket” over a more traditional type. I have to say that all of the hype is true and I’ll never use anything else. It’s much less cumbersome than a those “plastic wash basins” I’ve used in the past. The line shoots off of the shelf with ease and laying your coils onto the shelf feels much more intuitive. The size of the belt is very generous, I’m a 3xl 300LB guy and had close to a foot of leftover belt.

Can't even tell it's there. Very lightweight and because of the open design, it keeps your stripping hand free of bumping into a tradition stripping basket. Great design.

I like that it is less cumbersome than a traditional stripping basket. I fished the outgoing tide in a tidal Marsh and it worked wonderfully. I was able to strip my streamer fly in with it positioned on my left side which is difficult to do with a standard basket. It holds the line well and releases it nicely while casting.
