Tube Expanding is to reduce a tube wall by compressing the outer diameter of the tube against a fixed container such as rolling tubes into tube sheets, drums, ferrules or flanges. Construction of heat exchangers, boilers, and surface condenser tubes is mainly limited to copper, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron with exceptions such as the use of titanium in ultra high-pressure vessel applications. To assure a proper tube joint, the tube wall must be reduced by a predetermined percentage dependent upon the material the tube is constructed of.

Don't rush it. Take the time to swage evenly by rotating the tubing. If the tubing I'd cold, consider warming it with a torch.

No complaints on quality. Just the fact that these devices turned out to be less useful than I thought. That's because each size section is very small so you get an effective 1/4" to slide over. Also it really helps to heat the pipe first to keep from splitting.

Soft steel. Tried swaging soft copper, and it just bends. Doesn't work for what it's designed to do

I works on copper pipe but you have to do it little bit at a time.
