Terrible poorly made and the manufacturer doesnt exist with amazon anymore. Do not buy this item. With 5 uses the inner cable was showing as the sleeve pulled out of the black sleeve. Dangerous and unsafe.

I'm just a hobbyist diy tree climber and trimmer. This lanyard is understandably rigid and not very supple at all, so be sure to already have your preferred lanyard clipped to your harness unless you're literally just going up a spar with a few branches that you'll remove on your way up.It's always important to ensure that you're attached to the tree at all times (ideally twice as a failsafe). This reinforced lanyard makes it so much more likely that you'll survive those minor oopsies when you're being careless about chain saw cutting.

> KINGTLE Steel Wire Core Flip Line Kit ~$60The Good:+ Stiff, goes where you direct it+ Sheath slides and protects cableThe Bad:NothingThis requires tree climbing spikes, a harness, and usually a secondary method to tie off for fall arrest. This flip line does what it's supposed to do and ties into my harness as expected.

The steel wire core ensures durability and strength, providing a secure grip while climbing or working at heights. The flip line is easy to adjust and provides great flexibility, making it perfect for a variety of situations. It’s well-constructed, with high-quality materials that inspire confidence

This is a good, solid, well-made bit of kit. It's much too heavy if you plan on using it as an everyday lineman belt but it sure makes you feel safer when you're cutting up in a tree. I'm glad I opted for the 8 foot version because the 10 and 12 footers would be overkill for a weekend warrior like me.

Update:This style is MUCH better than the more flexible black bungee looking version with a silver parallelogram adjustor. This style has a swivel on the primary clamp, and the one way clamp on this one is much more user friendly. You just pull to your side and forward to tighten, and you can squeeze with one hand to loosen as you use your other hand to hold yourself in position. (The black bungee style required two hands to adjust, and had no swivel.)This was not my primary ascension method because my tree had too much lean and I couldn't flipline up the main trunk. I used a multi rope system (MRS/DDRT) to get up into the tree but then this was VERY useful for a second tie in point. When I did have to go 6-10ft past my rope anchor, I used this to secure myself while I climbed, and I used it to secure myself to a nearby branch while cutting limbs since I was at an angle from my primary line's tie in.To coil up the extra slack while climbing, I coiled it and clipped it into a 6-7" jumbo carabiner (cheap dog walking consumer grade) and clipped it to the back of my harness. Clipping the eye kept if from uncoiling, and I just unclipped a turn as needed to lengthen the line. (I may buy an 8ft version in the future to save on bulk and weight. 12ft was more than I needed, and 8 would have been just fine.)Original Review:I'll be free climbing a tree to cut it down from the top in the not so distant future, and this will definitely help me get up there. The pieces are all labeled with weight ratings as appropriate, and the cord is nice and substantial. I'll also have other roped and equipment for safety, but this will probably be the most useful piece for getting up the tree.

I used my own carabiner. The one that came with is now a gear holder. Otherwise, this is a decent line for pole and tree climbing. It has length long enough for some wider tree and has worked very well for the utility pole and pine trees that I had to do work up in.The clamp lock is a bit on the heavier side and a bit longer than expected, but entirely functional for what it is. All the weight of this is as expected for a steel braided cord of this length. The only thing I had any issue with was the 'biner that is rating-less and just didn't feel right in the hand. This is a part of my daily rig bag. For the price and length, absolutely good get for a safety gear.
