This basket started rusting the first day I used it, in lake water. The spring on the lid is carbon steel so in a few days it was inoperable. do not waste your money on this.

After opening the flimsy box, the red floater, spring, and spring retainer weren't attached to the wire mesh and were scattered about the box. Had to get on Amazon to look at the picture on how this device was put together. After installing it after several attempts, had to bend the darn wire that was supposedly acting as the swivel to make it stay put. Piece of junk...not going to send it back to Amazon so they can dump it on someone else! Try another manufacturer, 'cus these people don't know anything about quality workmanship.

at the end of day, if i dont catch enough or dont feel like cleaning them, i can let the fish go for another day; no damage done like gill chains or cords that go through mouth and gills!
