THIS AXLEBACK SYSTEM IS EXACTLY WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED FOR A CAMARO SS WITH ACTIVE EXHAUST/AUTO TRANS, IT MAKES THE CAR SOUND GOOD IN EVERY MODE, SUPER EASY INSTALL.YES IF THE VALVES ARE SHUT THEY WILL HAVE A MILD CHIRPING SOUND COMING FROM THEM AT IDLE, EXPECT IT.DOESN'T BOTHER ME, STILL SOUNDS BETTER THAN STOCK!1/3-2/3's LOUDER THAN STOCK IN EVERY MODE, SERIOUS POPCORN OFF REV DECELERATION.I RECOMMEND- I ALSO RECOMMEND FROM HOLLEY BUYING THE RANGE TECHNOLOGIES AFM DISABLER THAT PLUGS IN TO OBD PORT AND STOPS V4 MODE ON AUTOMATICS WHICH MAKES EXHAUST SOUND EVEN BETTER ! So I am on the fence with this exhaust. It arrived packaged well and looked to be constructed well. Install was straight forward and easy enough. First start sounded really good, then I started to notice something. After a period of driving, I started to notice a "hiss" sound with the valves closed when backing into my garage. The valves do not fully close on their own after the first start. I can take a screw driver and push them closed a 1/32" or so and then the "hiss" goes away. My stock exhaust didn't do this so I no its not a issue with the NPP actuators. I can not return the product because I didn't get a chance to install it right away due to the winter weather(purchased Feb 5th 2018) so I am out of the return window. I contacted Flowmaster direct, spoke with Ron, he had me submit a claim via email with invoice and video clips of the issue. I did right away...that was 6 weeks ago and no response after 2 attempts to reach out. Since Holley group bought Flowmaster, the CS seems to have taken a decline. So I am leaving a 2 star review until my issue is resolved.

Finally i found the perfect muscle car sound i wanted for my 2016 Camaro SS! I love the sound these Flowmasters produce, and its all with no drone, which is honestly odd for a flowmaster muffler set up, but a welcome oddity.I had a Borla ATAK axleback also with NPP and i will say that the quality of material and craftsmanship of the Borla is superior, the welds look cleaner, and of course that is 304s stainless, unlike Flowmaster's 409s.BUT... the Borla sounds so raspy and high pitched that i've had people think my car is a v6! Definitely not the sound i wanted from my muscle car.And these Flowmasters just sound so deep and beefy, i have no regrets for switching. This is the best mod you can do to make your 6th Gen Camaro SS sound like a beast. Pair it up with some 3" piping and you will be finding it hard to resist the urge to floor it everywhere you go.The only complaints i have is how easily the black paint peels off and the terrible packaging the axleback came in. the piping that connects to the midpiping was scratched up and lost a bit of the black paint from metal to metal contact which could have been avoided if Flowmaster would have added some foam between the two parts. Also, the foam padding was only on one side of the box, while the other is touching cardboard. Because of this lack of extra padding, the passengers side part where the NPP valves are connected to the little actuator motors was bent disallowing the motor to be bolted on. This appears to have been bent as a result of that valve mount having to padding and being right up against cardboard and shitty handling from FedEx. I decided to just use some clamps and straighten it out myself, and that was enough to get working, no need to ask for a replacement.In summary, this is the best sounding exhaust for 6th gen Camaro's with NPP functionality i have heard. The quiet setting doesn't quiet it as much as the stock mufflers do, but its enough to take off that extra rumble to keep the neighbors happy, and when the valves are opened in track mode, my car just roars! Love the sound, just wish flowmaster didn't settle on using the bare minimum packaging possible with their packaging.
