My girlfriend bought me a Kramer SM-1 H for my birthday, but one of the techs at Sweetwater messed up the nut and the tremolo arm during their "55-point inspection," so the strings would hang up on the nut whenever I did a divebomb, and the threads on the tremolo arm socket were messed up. But I replaced them both and now it plays like a DREAM!

There are noticeable differences between this Floyd Rose locking nut and the cheap knock-offs. It’s slightly heavier, the nut slots are more even and precise, the screws are stronger, and the string locks are designed to lock the strings down at the precise points where they enter the nut instead of flatly across the nut. The cheap ones are made of junk metal, so the screws easily strip and break whereas the Floyd Rose does the job it’s supposed to do - it keeps your strings in tune.
