The Fluke 50 Series II digital thermocouple thermometer is used for applications requiring a broad range of temperatures, including furnaces, kilns, freezers, and other industrial applications. This thermometer measures temperatures in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin via a Type K, Type J, Type T, or Type E thermocouple probe. It comes with one or two Type K bead thermocouple probes with 40" cables that measure from -40 to 260 degrees C (-40 to 500 degrees F). This thermometer provides the relative time of minimum, maximum, and average temperature measurements for monitoring. It has an offset function that allows the operator to compensate for thermocouple errors and increase accuracy. The thermometer body protects against splashing water and dust, and it comes in a holster that absorbs impact to help protect against damage if dropped. The thermometer enters sleep mode after 20 minutes of inactivity to help preserve battery life. It conforms to NIST standards for compliance with regulations. The European Conformity (CE) marking indicates compliance with applicable European Union (EU) directives, and CSA mark indicates compliance with applicable Canadian Standards Association directives. This thermometer is suitable for measuring the temperature of equipment, systems, and processes in industrial and manufacturing environments.

Digital thermocouple thermometers measure the temperature of air, liquids, or surfaces. They may measure temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or both. Thermocouple thermometers are composed of two conductors of different metals, usually alloys of the same metal, which touch at the sensor end of the thermometer. The difference in conductivity between the two metal pieces produces a voltage flow between the sensor end and the open end of each conductor, which can be used to determine the temperature. Different alloys are used for different temperature ranges. Thermocouple thermometers are used in applications that require a large temperature range and do not require a high degree of accuracy. These thermometers are used in kilns, turbine exhaust systems, and furnaces.

Fluke Corporation manufactures electrical testing tools and software for industrial and commercial applications. The company, founded in 1948, is headquartered in Everett, WA.

bought one of these 8 years ago. It has been used less than 6 times. stored in my work cabinet at my house. Never dropped or mis-handled. It still has the static cling display protector on it. Went to use it and the only thing it will read is C. on both t-1 and t-2. Can't change anything because none of the setup functions, or selections, etc will work. Fluke wants $212 to repair and performance check and $228 to include calibration with the repair and performance check. This does not include the shipping that I have to pay to get it there, and no warranty. Fluke makes some really good devices but I believe they don't back up what they sell. When I can buy a brand new one for less than $300 with a warranty (as it were) something tells me they're out of touch with reality. I can't imagine owning another device and unfortunately will look elsewhere. They don't need my business, but If I'm not satisfied there must be others.
