First, let me say that this eyepiece does fit on my Sony A77ii, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it. It's not only a different size and shape from the original, but it is also made of a completely different material - a much harder plastic, which doesn't give any cushioning at all.I bought my A77ii new several years ago. Recently the rubber eyepiece developed a tear in the rubber, so I needed a replacement and ordered this one thinking it would be functionally equivalent. It is not. The original eyepiece is a soft of hollow rubber which feels smoother and softer, and has some 'give' to it. This one is made of a much harder, solid plastic material, and when I look through the viewfinder, it feels like I just hit my glasses on hard plastic, not soft rubber. There's really no cushion effect at all. As well, this one sits lower on the camera body (see photos), and I've had to adjust my eye placement in relation to the camera as a result.It's not worth my time and energy to send it back, but if it were, I'd return it in a heartbeat.
