This saddle bar was recommended by my fitter - my new saddle's wool-flocked panels were getting beat up by the wider bar in my tack locker. This is a simple and inexpensive solution. The padded bar runs straight down the gullet and has no contact with the panels. The only tricky thing with installing is that no instructions are provided, so you need to look at the photos to see how the bracket is positioned and you have to insert the bar into the bracket BEFORE mounting it to the wall - see comments on the item listing at Schneider's website for more info.
