This seat is made of very flimsy plastic. I bought it for a trip to the Philippines where there are toilets without seats. I can verify that this does fit and does not require an existing toilet seat.However, when sitting on it, it is so flimsy that it bends inwards and down into the toilet. Very poor support and it was fairly uncomfortable to use.

I've tried this out at home, and it fits well over a standard toilet bowl. Fingers crossed for road trips. I wish it were a little more sturdy, but it will provide some comfort.
