The sludge is from the fortifier doing its job cleaning the carbon build up out of the engine. Do a oil change when the oil it turns dark/black not at mileage intervals.

Do not use. I thought the item would be safe as was recommended. This ended up burning out my vanos on my BMW as oil became to thick for them to actuate. Which then helped lead to the engine being miss timed which then lead to timing chain failure. This was diagnosed by a independent garage. Seriously stay clear. This cost me a healthy engine.

I tried this to slow the consumption of oil in my Ranger and all it does is plugs your oil filter and cause a significant drop in oil pressure. Everytime I check my oil now the dipstick is covered in a thick sludge that is hard to wipe off.
