This is a must have for anyone using the original Godox AD600BM studio strobes. These are the lowest profile I've found, and means a more efficient use of the light produced by the AD600BM, by allowing the bulb to protrude further into the modifier; only the original Godox proprietary mount fully optimises light efficiency, but they appear to be no longer available.

There’s Simple Bowens mount. I prefer this over the Godox, Simply because this amount is more shallow, Allowing more of the bulb to protrude. I have not tested this, but I believe it all allows more light out of the soft box.The downside of using this mount, the edge (rim) is not as rounded as I would like. I’m afraid the edge overtime may wear holes into my soft boxes.

It just fits better than the Godox one. And because it fits better, it makes your softbox more secure and minimizes the gap between the softbox and the adpater, allowing the light to extend better into the softbox. I tried them both out. My 31.5 x 31.5" Godox softbox dangled precariously off the Godox adapter. With hardly any pressure, you could knock it off. This adapter oh the other hand is better at becoming one with the softbox so there's no droop. There are a couple of reasons. 1) It's a couple millimeters wider, 2) the sides of the base on the Godox adapter are rounded which causes the tension rods inside the softbox to slip off the adapter because of the weight of the softbox (which really isn't that much). And finally, 3) This adapter is flat on the bottom which sits flatter against the back of the softbox making a far smaller gap. It's just better at the job.
