Macro extension tubes are a wonderful alternative to expensive macro lenses. Macro extension tubes maintain the original optical quality while transforming the normal lens into a macro lens. By placing distance between your camera body and lens, focusing distance is shortened and the effect of magnifying your subject is created. Because no optical components are added into this extension tube, the image preserves the original optical properties of the lens. This is far more desired than the close-up lenses which are added to the front of the lens via filter thread, which alter the optical quality resulting in a blurry image full of artifacts. Adding an extension tube increases the effective aperture, reducing the amount of light entering the camera, which means you will need to use either a longer shutter speed or higher ISO to compensate for the loss of light. The macro extension tube offers a mixed experience. On one hand, the build quality is robust, and the fit with the Hasselblad XCD mount is seamless, which is a plus for anyone looking for a reliable extension tube. The tube does its primary job well, allowing for increased magnification and closer focusing distances, making it a valuable tool for macro photography enthusiasts.However, the autofocus functionality is almost useless. The hunting and inaccuracy make it impractical to rely on for precise macro work. This can be frustrating, especially given the high expectations associated with Hasselblad equipment. On the bright side, once you switch to manual focus, the experience improves significantly. The ability to manually focus and then use automatic focus stacking is a nice feature, providing more control over the depth of field and resulting in sharper, more detailed images.In summary, the Fotodiox Pro Automatic Macro Extension Tube is a good addition to your macro photography kit if you are prepared to rely on manual focus. The autofocus limitations are a notable drawback, but the enhancement it offers for manual focus stacking makes it a worthwhile purchase for dedicated macro photographers.

This turns XD2 + 45/4 P lens into the most terrific macro lens I've used/owned to date.Selling all my other macro glass since this combo makes them all obsolete now. Wonderfulextension tube.

Kind a cheap way to go for the company. Every camera lens type product should have both caps to keep out dust. Good construction.

2024/01/17 UPDATE:Yes, it does work with the X2D body.The initial hick-up was probably due to contact pin oxidation. I messaged Fotodiox and they asked if the contact pins are springing freely. I tried pushing them and they all seemed fine. I tried rubbing them with my fingers but still not helping. I then swiftly twisted the lens on and off the extension tube several times and all of a sudden it works!Great quick reply from Fotodiox. I am all happy with this product and purchase now, so I'm back with a 5 stars review.--------Orignal comment...I just got my 20mm extension tube for XCD mount delivered. The finishing and fitting is top notch. However, a quick check with my XCD 4/45p and X2D body, both with latest firmware, the body does not recognise the lens. ie, no auto focus, no leaf shutter, and no aperture setting. There are connecters inside the extension tube on both sides. I also tried refitting the lens and the body both to no avail. Quite disappointing.

The "Pro" moniker that these adapters are badged with should mean they are truly "pro" this is not the case.I think that fotodiox sends its reject adapters to amazon, because this isn't the last time I've had a bad adapter from fotodiox.Pros:Has an ARCA style mounting plate foot which is handy to mount on a tripod with an ARCA style head.Cons:The mount that goes on the body is loose. Big fail.I can't recommend this product.

I bought this to use Canon EF lenses on a Hasselblad 907X. The fit is tight and secure. At first I was getting the "Lens not found" error. I made sure I had the latest firmware on my camera but it still didn't work. I sent a message to the company. While I waited for an answer, I did some more searching for answers on their site. I found a page that instructed me to go to the exposure menu. Under shutter function turn on electronic shutter. That did the trick. I can now use all my artsy canon lenses on my Hassy. I'm a happy camper. P.S. When I woke up this morning, there was an answer from customer service. I wasn't expecting such fast service. I would buy from this company again.

Forget about adjusting your aperture with this adapter. It is a very basic adapter and you get what you pay for. There's no way to adjust your aperture, and it turns your lens into 100% manual focus. I attached my Canon EF 100mm 2.8L to this adapter, since there's no aperture ring on the lens it automatically shoots at 2.8. That's great for wide telephoto shots. But for those tighter shots, where you need sharpness through out the entire photo, f8 or higher, it's not going to happen. It would have been really nice if they supplied front and rear caps to protect the mounts, from scratches and dirt/dust.

x1d初代にて使用。マウント部にガタツキもなく、きっちりと接合されます。EFマウント側も締め付けがきついので、外すのに力が要るかもしれません。電子式絞りは非対応。シャッターは電子シャッターのみ対応です。基本的には三脚前提ですが、動いていないものなら、手持ちでも結構いけるかな、という印象です。1:1かxpanフォーマットにすると、フルフレーム用のレンズでもケラレが少ないようです。16:9フォーマットだとイメージサークルが大きくないとケラレるので、動画用途だとレンズを選ぶと思われます。個人的には、rollei6000-Eosアダプターを継いでrolleiレンズを使いたくて購入しました。アダプタ同士の接合にガタがなく満足しています。

The adapter works great. Best part is it has a tripod mount. Now I can use my 645 tele lens on my X1D.
