The item was fine. Work fine just like the old one. Turned out that the old one wasn’t broken but I changed it anyway. Was cheap enough to just replace it. Didn’t fix my problem but had nothing to do with the part being bad or anything. No big deal. Anyway the part works just fine.

I used this heater control valve to replace the four way valve on a Jeep Cherokee . Although this valve isn’t the correct valve for my application , I used it to simplify installation to correct an on going problem I’ve been experiencing with the correct valve . I have replaced the heater control valve on my Jeep Cherokee with the correct valve several times . As many have been experiencing , the original style four way valve eventually leaks . I decided to try this two way valve . So far , it is working as intended . Should I experience and problems in the future , i will update . That maybe be a long time since the four way valves took a long time to leak . Hoping this valve never leaks , naturally . If it should ever fail , i will go ahead with another plan I had ; to remove the valve entirely and just use connectors to join the hoses together . I already have one return hose joined via a connector so it would be a simple process to remove the valve ( should it ever fail ) and replace with a connector . Through researching of others comments of different valves of similar design , the valve 74859 was suggested and said to be a good valve . Appreciate the comment from the Amazon customer . The best option in my situation would be to use heater core hoses from a later year Jeep Cherokee which don’t use a heater control valve and are molded correctly for the application .As of now , I’m not experiencing any loss of a/c cooling . It is said that if a heater control valve is not used and hoses routed directly from engine to heater are in place that there isn’t any potential loss of a/c cooling . Don’t know , cannot confirm . When you tire from valves leaking , you have only to apply ingenuity .

What I like is the fact that this heater valve doesn't look flimsy. It looks like it'll last a long time.

Old valve was leaking when the engine was off, and probably spraying antifreeze when running. Replaced with this unit, everything matched up. Had to drill out the screws on the old one that held it to the bracket, but the new one came with mounting screws. Exactly what I needed.

This was extremely easy to put in and it has functioned normally ever since its installation approximately 6 months ago.
