I have gutter guards so needed some hooks that would let me hang Christmas lights.Read a few disgruntled people saying that these did not stay in place during wind so I was a little worried.I live about 3 miles from the shore of Lake Michigan and these went through two very, very strong blizzards - including the infamous December 2022 blizzard - with no trouble whatsoever.Follow the instructions and you'll be quite pleased with these.

When we put the hanger straight down into the gutter-guard, it didn't seem sturdy. We added a bend in the leg of the hanger and now it rests on the underneath side of the leaf guard.Very easy and seems more stable.
