I ordered the FOXWELL VS300 Car Endoscope to use for automotive inspections and other hard-to-reach areas, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. Right out of the box, it felt well-made and durable. The 5.5mm camera is the perfect size to navigate tight spaces under the hood or inside engine components, and the 1280*720P resolution delivers clear, detailed images that make diagnosing issues much easier. One of the features I really appreciate is the IP67 waterproof rating, which gives me peace of mind when using it in areas where moisture or oil might be present. The adjustable 6-LED lighting is another standout—it provides just the right amount of brightness depending on the environment, which has been incredibly helpful in both dark automotive spaces and other low-light inspection tasks. While there isn’t a dedicated app from the manufacturer, this wasn’t a major issue for me. I was able to connect it easily to my Android phone and PC via the USB, Micro-USB, or Type-C options, and it worked seamlessly with third-party apps. The flexibility of being able to use it with different devices adds a lot of value.Overall, the FOXWELL VS300 is a solid, versatile tool for both professional and DIY users. Whether you need it for automotive diagnostics, home inspections, or general troubleshooting, this endoscope gets the job done reliably. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a dependable and budget-friendly snake camera!

This endoscope is not self-contained; it must be connected to a Foxwell scanner or an Android phone to provide the viewing screen and storage for photos that you save. No problem - I have an Android phone and the description says “There is no need to download an app.” Which, to me, means plug and play. Nope. It may work like that if you have a Foxwell scanner, but when I plugged it into my phone it just lay there. I could turn the light on and off so I knew it was connected correctly, but the ‘scope’s camera button did nothing. I sent an email to Fowxwell’s tech support and got a response within 24 hours. It turns out that, for phones, you DO need an app. Their reply email included a QR code that took me to a USB camera app on Google Play. Once I installed the app, the endoscope became usable. As an endoscope for live viewing, it’s not bad. The camera probe is about three feet long. It’s long enough to look into your car engine, or a hole in your wall to see where a leak is coming from or to look down your sink drain. It’s not long enough to see why your sewer line is clogged up. It will take pictures and save them to your phone. The standard photo is 640x480 pixels. This small size is a ploy to get you to buy the app upgrade, which will double the size of the picture you can save. For what you pay for the endoscope, it should include the full-size photo ability. The endoscope comes with a standard USB connection for use with a scanner, and also a micro USB and USB-C adapters for use with phones. It also includes a hook attachment and a magnet attachment for retrieving lost items, and a 90-degree angle mirror attachment for looking sideways. I would give it 4 stars but the misleading description on their Amazon page, the deliberately small photo size, and the annoying (and loud) video ad that plays when I shut the app down take away from the experience. The 3 photos show two views down my disgusting sink drain and a look at the garbage disposer.

Ok, So it took me a minute to figure this out. I got this scope to use with my android phone. However, there is no official app by the company. I went to the site, I tired to figure it out and nothing. My scope came with instructions but they are vague and there is no software for my computer. Not worry, I was able to find a universal app by just searching endoscope on the play store and it worked! (app is called "smart endoscope") Not too bad. It works perfectly and the night vision is perfect. I got it so I can look in my walls since I have to rewire my house and modernize this old house. This will save me the trouble of trying to figure out where the outlets go. Great product but you will need to trial and error on the apps until you find the one you like.

It took a bit of time to figure out that the camera isn't plug and play with my google phone. Need to download an endoscope camera app (generic) in order for the camera to work with phone. Once downloaded and installed, I connected right away with the camera. The picture is not 4k ultra and it is a bit grainy in low light settings. For a small format camera that can go into tiny areas this camera will get the job done. It does have a button to turn on a light which does help the picture. The flexible tube allows positioning around cornersThis camera is best suited for inside walls and around engine compartments.

I needed a way to see into tight, awkward spaces in my car and around the house – think engine bays, behind walls, inside pipes. This FOXWELL VS300 car endoscope seemed like a versatile tool because it connects to a variety of devices (Android phone, PC, and apparently some FOXWELL scanners). I got the version with the 5.5mm camera head, which is pretty slim.Connecting it is easy; it comes with USB, Micro-USB, and Type-C adapters, so you can plug it into most Android phones or a PC. You just need to download a simple app or software to view the image. The camera head is indeed small at 5.5mm and has an IP67 waterproof rating, so you don't have to worry about sticking it into damp areas or places with some liquid. The image quality is 1280x720P, which is clear enough for inspection work – you can definitely make out details like wiring, small parts, or obstructions. The six adjustable LED lights around the camera are crucial for illuminating dark spaces, and you can control their brightness, which is a great feature. The snake cable is flexible but holds its shape reasonably well for pushing it into tight spots. It's been really helpful for diagnosing car issues or looking into inaccessible areas without having to take things apart unnecessarily. If you need a flexible, small-diameter camera for inspections, this is a great tool to have.
