About this item

  • An expansive internal layout easily accommodates large motherboards up to E-ATX and SSI-EEB.
  • Install up to 18 HDDs alongside 5 SSDs mounts in the default Storage Layout.
  • Convert to Open Layout and get more than enough room for your custom water loop with large reservoirs and radiators up to 480 mm.
  • Brushed aluminum encases a refined front door design with reversible dual-handed hinges and magnetic latching.
  • Versatile new multi-brackets convert any unused fan position to an HDD, SSD or pump mount

The Define 7 XL sets a new standard for what you should expect from a full tower case in terms of modularity, flexibility and ease of use. With its dual-layout interior, industrial sound damping and massively versatile layout supporting the largest E-ATX and enterprise boards, multi-GPU setups, outlandish water loops, and almost two dozen storage devices (in Storage layout), you’ll be hard pressed to find a limit to what you can do with your build in the Define 7 XL.

The Fractal Design Define 7 XL is a sleek and sturdy case with excellent build quality. The brushed aluminum and tempered glass give it a high-end, modern look that’s sure to stand out in any setup. The interior is incredibly spacious, making it ideal for those who need extra room for large components, like extended GPUs or multiple radiators. However, this case is quite large, so I would only recommend it if you truly need that extra interior space. It’s easy to install components, and the silent features do a good job of minimizing noise. Overall, it’s a fantastic choice for a high-performance, spacious build!

I recently had the pleasure of unboxing and installing the Fractal Design Define 7 XL, and I must say it's been a game-changer for my build. This E-ATX Silent Modular Full Tower Computer Case is an absolute powerhouse of design, functionality, and versatility.Internal Layout: 5/5One of the standout features of this case is its expansive internal layout. The label placement on the motherboard mounting points is a thoughtful touch, making it easy to identify where each mounting hole is located. This attention to detail ensures that I can properly configure my build without any confusion.Noise Cancellation: 5/5The Define 7 XL truly delivers on its promise of silence. The sound dampening is superb, and the included case fans (which, by the way, are excellent quality like all Fractal products) work in perfect harmony to keep noise levels at bay. Whether I'm running demanding tasks or just browsing the web, this case ensures a peaceful environment.Cable Management: 5/5The rubber cable channels on the rear of the case are an absolute delight. They're well-designed, easy to install, and provide more than enough room for my cables to breathe. This feature is often overlooked in other cases, but it's a game-changer for keeping your build looking tidy and organized.Build Quality: 5/5The metal used in the case itself is top-notch quality. It feels solid, sturdy, and built to last. The brushed aluminum finish adds a touch of sophistication to the design, making this case a beautiful addition to any room.Versatility: 4.5/5While the instructions could be improved, the included videos online are more than helpful in reorganizing the internal components. This case truly offers excellent versatility and functionality, making it an ideal choice for builders who want a high level of customization. Conclusion:The Fractal Design Define 7 XL is a masterclass in design and engineering. Its attention to detail, quiet operation, and versatility makes it an exceptional choice for any build. I would wholeheartedly recommend this case to anyone looking for a top-notch E-ATX Silent Modular Full Tower Computer Case.

Needed a case which can fit a whole lot of hard disk for my NAS, and this fits the bill. Certain things about it aren't as good as my Define R5, but I can see why they made those decisions, as this is a case which can have its purpose changed easily for different use case.Props to the seller too who went above and beyond in ensuring this case with its super large box was able to be shipped to me!

If you look at one of my attached photos you will see two 16TB standard hard drives; two 8TB standard hard drives; a couple of NVME SSD's (4TB and 2TB); and 12 SSD drives of various sizes. My Garmin watch is attached to transfer my fitness data and it shows up as device D.Anyway, all the hard drives, SSD's and NVME SSD's are tucked away just fine inside this case. I do a lot of photography/video so I have an additional 48TB (six 8TB standard hard drives) tucked away in the upstairs closet. This case is designed to handle numerous drive configuration and does so exceptionally. Still a lot of cables but under the circumstances I think the appearance is great.A VERY HEAVY CASE (Steel Construction) but once in place, who cares? My only negative (a very small one) is there is a POWER L.E.D. on the case, but no HD ACTIVITY L.E.D. Sometimes I want to know if something is going on -- especially if what I am doing appears to be taking much longer then I expected. I will include FRACTAL's reply to this issue, but I just had a real-life experience where knowing there was something going on would have been beneficial.I just downloaded Microsoft Flight Simulator which was released last week. If you have seen articles about the download (once the game was released) many buyers were concerned about the length of time of the download, etc. Often they could not tell if the download was doing anything. I too wondered if the download was working. IT WAS A HUGE DOWNLOAD and install process. It would have been nice if I had a HDD ACTIVITY L.E.D. to let me know something is going on and data is being downloaded and written to my 4TB NVME PCI 4 SSD.Anyway, this is a great case and for the price worth every penny. Quality construction; well designed internal layout; multiple cooling fans; parts and materials packaged well; manual well written; etc.Lastly, here is FRACTAL's reply to my inquiry about the lack of the HDD L.E.D.Hello,The Define 7 XL does not have a Hard Drive activity light. The Define series was originally made to be a media center PC, but the product developers thought it would be annoying to have a light flashing while you are trying to enjoy a movie. It was added to the Define R5 and R6 but we decided to remove it again for the Define 7 cases, as it seems to be waning in popularity these days.So we decided just to have the power LED and if someone wanted to have the HDD LED they could plug the power LED connectors into the HDD LED pins on their motherboard and use their power LED as their HDD LED, because the HDD LED wouldn't flicker if there wasn't any power provided to the system. If you have anymore questions or concerns feel free to ask.Best Regards,ShaneUPDATE 08/2/2021 Since I first built the computer I was referencing in my original post, I have changed the motherboard, et al. I now have 2 Sabrent NVME PCie 4 drives; 3 HDD - Two 16GB drives and Two 8GB drives; and 8 SSD drives from 4TB down to 1TB. None of these changes impacts my opinion of this case - it is fantastic.
