I certainly had a displeasure of purchasing several of these kits that include rubber gaskets for the transmission pan.Rubber is for rubber bands and other accessories not for transmission fluid. Please get this into your brain cells.

There are two different gaskets to choose from. Transmission doesn’t leak after installment. I strongly recommend this gasket for the 48RE transmission.

Getting the right filter is not hard, but the 42RE has 3 options so I understand the confusion. I chose this one because I know it works, and is a little more robust than the others. The included gasket is "cork", just FYI.
