Although the port was higher than anticipated and the bit did not work out for the mare we had planned it has worked beautifully with another mare and the quality is fantastic for the price.

I bought a knock-off brand bit similar to this, which broke within a week. This was only a few dollars more, and is much better quality.It seems well made and well put together. I use it primarily as a show bit for my Paint horse. Seems to encourage good head carriage, and the way the bit is put together gives a quick response. This bit does engage really quickly, so be careful while you're getting used to it. Aluminum shanks make it nice and light weight, and the engraving makes it look really good without being a $300 silver bit.
