Part works as expected and fixed the issue, although I did install a new thermister at the same time. The part is easy to install but could have some better instructions, such as how to better attach (tape) the thermister and its tab to the damper before installing and to make sure you line up the protrusion in the back with the hole in the refrigerator to properly seat the whole control assembly.

Easy to install…. Took about 10 mins but you might as well clean the fridge while you have everything out - so really 25 mins.😎

This damper unit works well and seems to have solved my fridge not cooling issue; would have been nice if they had included the wrap tape though. The issue I have with this is the only part that failed is the two copper pins shown in the photo which over the years have become too soft to hold their shape. These two contacts are literally only a few cents, and are easy to clip in and out. They could be sold and shipped for a couple of dollars, instead we have to buy this full assembly which is very expensive, and most of it is non recyclable, when those two copper contacts are 100 percent recyclable. So this is a costly part that does not help the environment at all.

Refrigerator produced a Code H1. Our unit would also make a faint pulsing sound. This is the Sankyo motor assembly to the damper/armature. TEST....In our case when it failed,, if you forced it open, it will close and then pulse after you reconnectthe 9 pin harness. Freezer began overfreezing, due to the damper being closed....Fridge was cool, but not cold. Thaw the return vent at the second drawer from the bottom (probably frozen closed). Also, sweep and or blow out the defrost coil underneath the unit before starting. The return vents to the freezer on the opposite side for circulation. Remove the (5) 1/4 screws from the control panel. The far back one is long. Replace damper assembly. I did not replace the already attached polystyrene housing and vent. Cut the tape and reinstalled. Control motor now regulates the fridge according to the thermostat. Note if the thermistor has failed you should get a Code OT. For good measure I recommend setting a thermometer in the fridge to accurately adjust the fridge temperature. The part number on the unit is #242303001. This Sankyo Unit assembly Part Number # 242303001 was an exact replacement.

Promptly delivered and it was relatively easy to replace. It fixed my poor fridge/freezer that was constantly cooling and freezing everything in the freezer while not getting enough cold air in the fridge section. Thanx!

After a recent power outage, the fresh food side of our Frigidaire (FFHS2611PFEA) stopped cooling. The display was flashing an H1 error. I tried unplugging the unit for 60 min, cleaning all the condenser coils underneath, clearing the error and plugging it back in. Still nothing. Freezer was working fine. Additionally, the evaporator fan was running, condenser was good, condenser fan was operational, but just no cold air flowing into the fridge. After doing a deep dive into a number of online resources I stumbled on a YouTube video by PartSelect. He had a complete tutorial on replacing the damper when there's no cold air flow to the fresh food side. It was also obvious something was wrong with the damper because the more time that passed, the more frost started to build up at the damper inlet within the freezer side. Cold air just wasn't flowing in. The flap within the damper was stuck closed. This was super easy to install and totally fixed the issue. Back up and running.

Had an issue with my 5-year old Frigidaire Side-by-Side refrigerator (FFH52311PFBA) no longer getting cold and blinking an H1 error after a power outage, but the freezer was still ice-cold (and frosting). After some research, I found it could be two things. 1. the damper (this part) is dead and needs replacing, or 2. the return airflow vent in the fridge that goes back to the freezer is blocked with ice - because the heating element under the fridge is not working properly (usually too much dust on the coils). After checking the vent (usually on the side wall behind one of the produce drawers) and seeing no ice blocking the holes and cleaning the dust off the coils for good measure anyway, I determined it was the damper that was causing the refrigerator to not cool. This thing is fairly easy to install. You can watch videos of people doing it on YouTube, which is what I did to determine how difficult it was. After calling around to a few local repair shops, they wanted $120 to walk in the door and diagnose, plus an hourly rate to do the work, PLUS the cost of the part which was about $40 higher than it was here on Amazon. I ordered the part here figuring I could always return it using Amazon's wonderful return policy if it turned out it was something else that was more serious - requiring me to bite the bullet and hire that expensive professional. The part arrived in a day. It took me about 20 minutes to install by unscrewing the housing for it on the fridge side (make sure you have an extended 1/4 inch hex bolt/screwdriver bit). I unplugged the fridge, carefully disconnected the power connection and the sensor connection, then popped out the old one and put in this one. Didn't even bother to install the faceplate that came with the new one as the old one was still fine and the part slipped right in. There are only two connections to deal with and a sensor wand, so the mess of wiring looks more intimidating than it really is. I carefully put it back together, plugged in the fridge and after a few seconds, I could feel cold air coming from that vent - indicating the door flap was opening working again. After about 12 hours, my fridge was back to normal again and I could feel the damper open and close when I adjusted the number dial on the fridge side. If you're having this problem, check your coils for dust and your airflow return vent for ice. If that's not blocked then this might be your problem, and it's an easy money-saving fix. Good luck.
