recently purchased 18,000 btu fridgdaire window ac unit. my former unit, (also fridgdaire) lasted around 14 years. before buying it, i read in the manual that these filters were avaliable, so when i got the new unit, i ordered one of these. the included dust filter is simply too thin and doesn't catch enough dust/dirt etc. i have seasonal allergies and this will really help with that. even has indicator on the unit and in the app to alert you to change the fiter, got it late this season (end of august) so i won't know the Longevity of the filter until the spring/summer of next year. used for about 2 weeks, and so far it's working well. i will update next season. for what it is, it could be cheaper. but seems well made.

I love that modern window ac’s like our Frigidaire make room and and power to push through these HEPA filters. Micro particles, phthalates and asthma are on the rise, so it’s important to me that we can scrub while cooling and drying, if we choose, our living space.
