I was able to make this work for my ‘85 CJ7 w/ full doors by drilling out the rivets used for the rod connections, enlarging the hole slightly, and installing the plastic bushing/ rod lock in place from my old latch assembly. Build quality of the metal latch assembly was identical to the OEM part that was removed.

The clips that accept the rods are thin and not hardened steel. One broke immediately upon me trying to install the rod.

I’m very happy with this part. Often times the description isn’t what you get. Not in this case. Solid material, good price and works well. The fit is just like the original Canadian part that it replaced. Installation was simple and straightforward (just the reverse of OEM part removal).

Perfect fit with my old screw however after I installed door didn’t open easily so I had to adjust the arm and while doing it lock arm retainer broke, so delicate and poor quality. I had to steel wire it (as pictured).Seller is good and accepted return.Thanks a lot.

The original bolt wont tread in without enough toque to strip it. Then the latches barley work
