I originally bought these for a plague doctor costume I did two years ago but they also ended up working great for my clown costume this year! I will say they’re not the most comfortable, I’m not sure how long you’d wanna wear them for so maybe not practical for every day use but they’re super cute and worked perfect for what I bought them for

I ordered these shoes for a Moulin Rouge Secret Cinema Event, where guests were asked to dress in character as "Children of the Revolution". I was really anticipating a fantastic night out and I was utterly determined to look the part, and these shoes helped me to deliver! I teamed them with a cream victorian corset dress, and a pair of lace gloves, resulting in what I thought was a very authentic look. The boots are vegan friendly as they are made from synthetic materials only. If buyers are concerned about this impacting on the quality, they need not be worried as the boots are wonderfully made and incredibly comfortable. This made them ideal for a night of audience participation in the streets of 'Monmartre', as the event involved me being on my feet for a significant portion of the evening. Their durability was put to the test when I joined in the audience's spontaneous mass can-can. Voila! The boots remained intact.Since the event I have worn the shoes with tailored outfits to give my style an edgy appeal of Chic de Parisienne. Outside of the realms of fancy dress, they are perfect for making a quirky statement. I have worn them many times and so far they show no sign of wear and tear. The product was delivered via prime and safely packaged in it's own attractive shoebox within the Amazon packaging. Arrived in plenty of time for the desired event, so I was stress free for the big day!C'est magnifique! Five star product, would highly recommend.

I bought these shoes as an accessory for my Victorian lady Halloween costume, and a lot of my housemates said they look awesome. I agree with them. I got the size 10's and they fit me perfectly. Also, these shoes are so comfortable that I could wear them more than once a year and they're easy to move around in too despite having high heels which I don't usually wear. That's a good thing, since there's going to be dancing at the party I'm going to and I don't want to end up with aching feet before the evening is over. I imagine that they would even look good with modern clothes, because the ones I bought are very versatile. I bought the plain black ones. I also got them at a reasonable price, as opposed to the other ones I liked on this site with black lace on them; but I didn't buy them since they cost $68.00, which is a bit overpriced for shoes in my opinion. Unless, they were real vintage shoes which they're not. They're just made to look like them. Anyway, the only thing I would change about these shoes I bought is to put inserts in them since I need the extra arch support. But, that can be easily fixed with the ones in my tennis shoes.

I was looking for boots for my Steampunk costume and ordered these along with a pair Hush Puppies Vivianna Black boots not knowing which I would like better. I loved the look of the Hush Puppies on line but when they arrived toe was too square for my taste and they were not as comfortable as these were. I paid over $115 for the Hush Puppies and wound up sending them back and keeping these. They are not leather so they do look a bit on the cheaper side but they were very comfortable right off the bat. I felt that they were true to size. I have had problems with arches and heels lately where I have not been able to even wear my comfortable tennis shoes so I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to wear these either for any good length of time.To my amazement, I was able to dance and wear them at a party all night long with no problems. Great buy and well worth what we paid. I would purchase again.

I normally wear a size 11 Wide, and finding a shoe to fit, in the Shoe store is a real trial,....so I almost NEVER order any shoes on-line because 9 times out of 10, it-will-NOT-fit.But,....I live in a rural area.My nearest shoestore is over 30 minutes away, and even there, my choices are extremely limited.I had seen a pair of repro. Victorian boots my Daughter-in-Law had purchased to go with some of her 'fun' clothes, and fell-in-love with her boots (I'm normally a flip-flops and flats sort of gal)She said she had found her boots 'on-line'So I checked out Amazon, and finally found a (this) nice Victorian pair.It doesn't come in an 11 Wide,.....but I took a chance that a 12 would give me that little bit of extra toe room I needed,...and it Does !These have a flared heel,....the other reason I ordered them.Since I never wear heels, a wider heel was a Must-have (dancer's also tend to wear a flared heel for stability when-ever possible)I tried the boots on and they fit Great.Walking in them was the usual calf-shock thing that all flats-wearers experience, but it helped to get off my feet regularly and relax those calves,....give them a rest,......I got them because like my Daughter-in-Law, I also have 'fun clothes' and outfits aren't complete without the cool shoes. (on this point,....she and I wear the same size clothes, but my feet are twice as big as her's :-Anyway,...the boots are delightful and I will watch the store's offerings for more variety in a 12 .

These boots are really cute. I really wanted them to fit right and be perfect. However, when I got them the material is very stiff and I think years of wearing would be needed to get the supple feel I like in a boot. If you are planning on wearing them for a costume I think they'd be fine, but I was looking for something for everyday wear. My biggest problem with them though was that unless you find the exactly perfect size to fit your foot it was obvious a crease would form below the laces from your foot sliding around. I usually wear between a 8 1/2 and a 9. I ordered a 9 which was definitely too big and I could see the crease forming from just trying them on, but from the way the rest of the boot fit it felt like a 8 1/2 would be too tight. I think these could be perfect for some people, they just didn't work for my feet. Great service though and easy to return.

These boots look great, and because the heel isn't too high and has a nice chunky base, I can still dance in them. I'm using them for a production of Jekyll and Hyde which has a lot of movement, choreography, and staircases and I've been happy with how easy it is to wear these throughout. They seem to be scuffing a little bit, but what do you expect? These aren't the most expensive boots, which makes them great for a costume, but maybe not for everyday use...The toe is quite pointy, so if you have a wider foot they may not be as comfortable. I've worn mine quite a bit between rehearsals and performances so they are pretty well broken in at this point. These are also really great for someone who has wider calves, but wants the look of a victorian boot, without breaking the bank.
