So other reviews are correct. It does arrive looking like a deformed mess and it doesn't seem to fully (or even half-ly) expand on its own. But thanks to another review I tried a steamer and it worked! So basically don't buy this unless you have a steamer. I really needed to ram the steamer into the foam, not just poof some steam around it. After I got the hang of it it was actually kind of fun to see it blow up like a balloon. I picked this set of stairs over others just because of the dog in the product photo lol. Now that it's blown up, it's fine.

We received the steps Friday and it said it would take 48-72 hours to decompress but you could speed the process by using a garment steamer. I waited and figured after 72 hours it would have decomposed and a garment steamer would help at this point. I was disappointed to say the least. Well…my husband removed the cover and used the garment steamer (he tried with the cover on but it didn’t work) and WOW. It’s perfect now and our little pup loves them! I didn’t take a before picture unfortunately , but you can see in the 2nd pic by looking at the crease or bottom of the couch cushion, that’s as high as it went before. Gained about 4 inches after steaming 😊

Would not expand and take shape. I steamed with floor steamer and iron, then kneaded with my feet and it finally expanded completely. I got two. The other one is still flat at as pancake a day later. I will steam that one also rather than return. If you don’t want to bother with the process, I would chose something else.

MY elderly cat is 19 years old with Osteoarthritis and loves this. Always she turns to me, gives a chirp, to show me she's about to use it, wants me to watch! LOL as she ascends it, and hops onto the bed. Its really soft, I think made from some soft memory foam or just foam, and I keep it right next to my bed by the night stand so she can go up it easilly to the bed. She's not too sure about the night stand, but she likes to go directly from IT to the bed,

Takes very long time o assume shape. We finally found out a hand steamer helps. The steps are soft but okay for a small dog.

After three days this is what it looks like, it’s not expanding anymore. It’s useless and I will be returning. I recommend spending your money on something much better than this.

Absolutely LOVE this product! At first, when it arrived I was ready to return it because it was inconceivable to me...how this smallish box held steps for Pepper, my 10lb 14yo poodle/shitzu mix who is quickly developing mobility issues))). I was looking for something practical, lightweight and fabric. It has been just about 12hrs since I just left it to "inflate" and frankly I am ELATED! Not only is it lovely, inobtrusive, easy to move from here to there(handy strap!) but my last worry was how to initiate her steps up the soft corduroy stairs.. that was easy peezy with one of her favorite treats.. did that about 2-3 times and voila! she adores it. Thanks, I would say it is very practical, inexpensive I can see myself repurposing it one day, perhaps as a stand for a plant in a corner!

After letting the steps air out for a day, the only place we're going is the floor. Dreams of couch adventures and window guarding are still out of reach. These 'steps' can more accurately described as deformed speedbumps as they fail to go vertical.
