Each one of these external storage I have 2TB SSD installed, SATA 2242 M NGFF and NVME M.2 and 2280 and one of the external enclosure with fan serves as mini NAS, it is running 24/7 over 2 weeks now... and today no issues or It will be far from me having to worry about SSD over-heating issues.* Improves endurance of SSD large file transfers for hours and hours without throttling down transfer rate as much, if your SSD suddenly drops in transfer rate and stuck at 0/KBps for over a minute and longer time this is because your SSD is trying to tell you there is too much heat generated and can't dissipate efficiently.* Improves thermal transfer from semi-conductor surface to outer casing (plastic closure + copper sheets inside / aluminum enclosures)* Messy goo stains - with a little patience and love you can easily clean it with rubbing alcohol and a soft tooth brush , use soapy water mix if its out side the plastic enclosure.* Doesn't short circuit* Better heat dissipation will theoretically result longer life for these storages.* This is for me is more practical per coverage surface area and volume of conductivity in comparison with premium Noctua / Grizzly / Arctic...

Better than the silicone grease stuff... I buy this kinda stuff like once a decade. Its always unbelievably expensive in the syringes, so the tub works out much better. I use it for cpu's, amplifier heatsinks, etc...

Had this stuff on temp rose 5c from ht-n1. Put nt-h2 on the same cpu and temp dropped 7c. Good to have around if youre in a pinch.
