Gaiwan tea was a popular way of making tea in the Qing Dynasty.

This is an exquisite gaiwan set, complete with a lid, bowl, and saucer. While the mark on the bottom of the bowl did not match the advertised photo, I cannot independently verify if they are truly from Jingdezhen as claimed. Nevertheless, I must say that the quality of these gaiwan is outstanding.

Beautiful blue on white pattern. Medium weight china makes this the perfect single serving piece. Strong enough to be long lasting but light enough to allow easy pouring. I do recommend some finger hot pads as the cup gets boiling hot and can burn you.

I got 4 of those and they are beautiful. It arrived very well packed in individual boxes. The pictures don't do its justice. The material is very fine and no signals of imperfections. I got the 6.8 ounces one and they are the perfect size.
