This is a very fine porcelain gaiwan. Delicate and lovely. Small enough to be easy to maneuver. I made some loose leaf Osmanthus Oolong and it steeped perfectly under the lid. What a dainty cup!

The gaiwan goes well with the koi cups from the same seller. As you can see in the picture, colors are not exact matches, but I kind of like it. I would say they definitely share similar style. Also, they did a really great job with the packaging to protect it from damaging.

Beautiful piece for the price! Seems well made, haven’t tried it out yet but I’m excited! Took a while to receive but that’s expected with the long distance travel.

Color and look is nice. Cannot pour from this thing without dribbling tea down the side and getting it everywhere. Badly designed.

I bought this teacup to complete my set with the same style. The cup came ahead of schedule. It is absolutely gorgeous, the quality is great!

I've been through a couple of these gaiwans now because they chip and break really easily. They're lovely but entirely too fragile for long-term use. The tiniest little bump and the first one I ordered just crumbled around the rim.

Purchased this because I was desperate for a gaiwan for an event. And I hate the color blue, and that’s the one that would arrive on time, so I was already anticipating sending it back. When it arrived, it was too small for the 4 person event I was planning…But what a delight! The color is enchanting and drew me in. It’s almost blue-green. It is too small for a large event but it would be excellent for a little ceremony for two.It fits extremely well in the hand of you have shorter fingers. It’s substantial without being heavy. I am still a beginner and occasionally burn myself on my other gaiwans, but have never had that problem with that with this guy.The well for the foot of the gaiwan in the saucer is deep. This little guy isn’t going to slip around in the saucer; it’s very stable.I use this guy almost every morning now. It’s a pleasure. Extremely happy to have this guy.

I took a chance buying this, and hoped that the color would match the celadon tea set i purchased. It did not. It’s a more darker green (as the picture shows), and i just chose to ignore the picture and purchase it regardless, thinking “maybe it’s just the lighting!”It was not just the lighting.I still have it and i plan to keep it. It’s a very heavy gaiwan and quite frankly may take some getting used to holding it. It has a beautiful shape to it that reminds me a lot of chinese architecture, and features a stamp at the bottom of the saucer and cup showing the kiln it came from. The rim of al three pieces is left a stark white that really pops against the smooth and dark green, and i think that provides a beautiful contrast. It is also a deep gaiwan, and holds more than any other I own. I don’t know its capacity, but it holds quite a bit and has great even heat retention. Despite its thickness, it heats up very well.UPDATE 6 MONTHS LATER:Not only do i still have it, but it's become my go-to gaiwan for both casual usage and more formal gongfu ceremonies. When brewing tea, it's become an extension of both my arm and who i am.
