This bit driver extender is a good value at half the cost of the OEM version. So far as I can see, it only has one con. That con is that it does rattle slightly in the bit holder of my well-used Leatherman Wave and with the standard bits well, but this does not really affect function.The pros of this bit driver extender are several:1.) This frees me from having to only use the special OEM bit.2.) It gives me a lot more extra reach and utility for my multi-tool.3.) It's sturdy, made from a solid chunk of steel.4.) It's a great value for the price (as of March 30, 2025)!I totally recommend getting one of these bit driver extenders!

I own several Galvanox tools and they have never failed me. Their lifetime warranty also inspires confidence.In this case, the extension fits my Leatherman surge perfectly and securely, and won't fall out accidentally. It holds both the flat Leatherman bits as well as normal 1/4 inch bits very securely with both magnetic as well as spring retention.The black finish is not smooth as in product pictures, but looks like the finish on some parkerized gun tools. I quite like it.

When i fitted this extender into my Leatherman and put a star-head bit on it, the feeling of power and freedom was exquisite. Immediately though, I had to confront the basic practical dilemma of this item: to be useful out in the world, at a moment's notice, as my Leatherman currently is, I need to carry the extender and also some bits at all times, which would suck. And if I am not out in the world, I am at home, or in the car, with access to full size bit drivers.So, this is a solution in search of a problem. But, we know that SOMETIMES we get caught needing a certain thing and we never have it. So I am assuming that someday, I will need to use 1/4" bits on my Leatherman and i will be ready.The item itself is nicely made, solid, fits snugly into the rectangular driver slot on the knife and all my bits are happy with it. Thumbs up.

Seems sturdy and the sizing is right, but machining is just OK and the inside of the hex bit end was quite rusted.It needed to be cleaned up and oiled. Doesn't seem like it's stainless steel.There's a spring clip in the end which is good to grip bits in addition to the magnet.

This is overall a good budget option if you want to save some money from buying the one from leatherman. It fits well and actually accepts not only the hex but also leatherman's bit. I also like that the end is magnetic so the bit goes in well. The reason I took one star off was because the way the slot fits into my leatherman curl. For the bit ends, if you look closer they have a notch which makes it click and fit securely, however for this extender the notch doesn't exist so it's just sitting in the slot. It's not a huge issue and I haven't had any issues yet with it falling out, but it is something I wish they implemented.

Fit great on my Leatherman wave and makes it a really functional screwdriver. The magenta to hold the bit in seems pretty strong. I think I'll keep a full size #2 Phillips in it.

This bit driver extender is a great upgrade for my Leatherman Skeletool, letting me use standard 1/4" hex bits instead of the proprietary flat ones. It doesn't have the groove to lock into the Leatherman's bit driver, but in practice it stays in place well enough during use.The extender’s hex side fits both Leatherman flat bits and standard hex bits—including double-ended ones—thanks to a nicely deep socket. There's a detent that holds standard length bits, but if you push too hard during insertion or use, the bits can slide in too far and get stuck. It’s not a big problem, but I end up using the pliers to get them back out.In spite of that, this is a useful accessory that makes my Skeletool more flexible and I'm glad to have it in my toolkit.

Ordered this because I have a skeletool and a Signal that both have the bit drivers on them, but only support the mini screw driver bits.This slots in and has a nice secure fit, just like the official bits/tips from leatherman. What's really nice is that the official bits can actually slot into the end of this as well, to make it function as an extension for the official bits in addition to an adapter for standard 1/4in bit driver accessories.The only thing that's missing is that, just like the official bit driver kits, there's not a great way to carry this with your leatherman... Sure you can slide it down into the sheath with it, but there's always the chance you'll lose it when you're pulling out the main tool for any random task and it could just fall out.If the manufacturer could offer a case/sheath that would hold my Signal, the official bit tips, and their extension... I'd throw my money at the screen.
