The passenger side cable on my Nissan Frontier was damaged, it lost the "keeper" tab that kept it on the top bolt. So it would fall off and provide no support to the lowered tailgate. This replacement fit perfectly. The only differences it is seems a little more stiff and the eyelets are bare metal instead of some kind of coated metal like the original.
