Members of my family are in the military and the police force, and they swear by this brand. These boots are indeed made for high impact and tactical work, but I found them just as rugged and durable for everything else. For my lifestyle, these ankle-length leather boots were great for walking and hiking especially in rough terrain. The shock absorption is outstanding as is the thick rubber soles which are reliable and minimizes slipping in muddy areas. The high arched rubber soles, side vents, and laces firmly stabilize ankles and feet while the inner sole is comfy but well supported. The only drawback is that these are not fully waterproof, but the high quality leather does repel water to a good extent when sloshing through puddles. The boots are narrow, so I recommend ordering a half-size up which I did and glad of it because they fit very well with room for thick socks.Great quality boots for any mission

Fit is a little stiff, and kind of squeaky in water. Quality seems okay - not sure how durable they will be long term. Not heavy or light — about in the middle. Seems like a decent value for the money. I’ve definitely worn better duty boots in a long career in LE, but they also cost a lot more. For the price, they aren’t bad. They’re as good a B@tes or 511.

So, these are tactical boots that have been slightly revised to work for EMS and LEO use. I’m not either of those, but I know that equipment that is built and marketed towards demanding work typically holds up and performs better than the usual fashion and outdoor items sold at local sporting goods stores. These boots are built like a tank! Construction is solid and clean, no glue drips or parts that will peel apart after a few weeks of abuse. They are very stiff in the ankle, but that is intentional. They will break in after a couple more weeks of walking in then. What to like?- the D30 insole is magic. Super shock absorbing and comfortable without feeling mushy or soft. It’s also in the ankle and tongue for added protection.- Vibram sole is as good as it gets. It does have deep tread, so watch out for tracking mud. I walked through some sandy hills and I appreciate the deep tread so far.- good leather toe box and thick nylon strapping sewn into the top.- easy to get on and quick to tie. What am I not sold on?- a chore to get off. You going to need to loosen up the laces halfway down to pull these boots off.- they are not waterproof, or even very water resistant. They have vents in the sides, but don’t actually breath particularly well, wear appropriate socks!- the top lace eyelets are fully metal and the laces don’t go into the meat of the upper boot. I’m skeptical that this won’t force them to rip off eventually, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.Overall, I’m happy with these tactical boots and are up to par with the price point. I have a few pairs of hiking boots that were more expensive and these feel as well built. The toe box is designed to be shined for service duty, but I suspect it will wear/patina nicely without any shine. I’m guessing I’ll be able to get 10 solid years of abuse out of these boots, based on prior experience with footwear of similar build quality. I do wonder if they’ll sell me replacement insoles though? (They really are amazing!)

Very good boots. I wore them for an entire day and did not rub my feet raw. Oddly enough, from sitting down and leaning forward for an extended period, I did end up with a small bruise on my right shin. But no foot trouble at all.I prefer a wide shoe for puttering around, but for a boot like this a 12 regular fits just fine. It was hard (as I expected) to put my foot in and hard to take it out, but once it was in, the boot held my foot in place without squeezing too much in any one area. This is a summer boot for me. I can't put heavy socks in them. I prefer it that way. If they were large enough for heavy socks, my feet would slide around with light socks. I'd keep that in mind if you use heavy socks all year round like the rock climbers do.The sole is very stiff. I could rock climb in these as easily as with any standard rock climbing boots/shoes.The leather uppers offer a good measure of protection from rattlers which is a good selling point if you live in rural Texas.l like these boots a lot, but I don't have use for them on a regular basis. I'll use them for camping, fishing, exploring, etc. In the old days, they would have been great in the warehouse. In the really really old days, they would have been better than all the Corcorans I wore in the Army and probably some of the general issue boots.Barring theft or misplacement, I'll never need another pair of similar boots.

Review of GARMONT TACTICAL T8 Defense LE Law Enforcement EMS Boots for Men and Women, Full Grain Leather, RegularMy only regret with these is that I may have deprived a law enforcement officer, or EMS person of this pair of fine footwear. I’ll be using these for civilian uses, mostly my primary outdoor activity of plein air painting. When painting I stand the entire time (hours at a time) and sometimes have to walk some distance to find a good spot. These are comfortable, sturdy and durable. I worry a bit about my ankles feeling comfortable in any footwear, these don’t seem to bother them too much. As a civilian the one thing I don’t care for as much is that the laces at the top have to be threaded into the loops rather than having hook type holders that can just be caught by the shoelaces, like some work boots and hiking boots have. As I am getting older, that makes these a bit harder to put on and take off. Not a big problem and no stars off for that. I checked out other tactical footwear and they all seem setup similarly.
