Didn't really seal any of the old gas cans I had that was different manufacturers. It does keep the dirt out.

Just as advertised, this is a rough threaded, thick and sealed cap that has nice thick washer for a solid seal that u can tighten well. Modified one of them to directly deliver fuel to diesel heater using cut down steel pickup stand tube sealed to the cap with a tiny 1/16 air hole. Use another cap to transport tank for re-fills.

These caps are loose and only seal with the final turn. How long will they last like this?

I've bought a bunch of different caps most without the inner ring, but these caps keep the rubber seal from deforming and slipping. The seal is so good, the Midwest can expands and contracts as I travel to and from sea level to my mountain home at 5,000'.I'll definitely buy these again.

I have over a dozen 5 gallon or bigger gasoline jugs. Moving them to and from the pickup truck for going/coming from the filling station was a pain in the backside with the accordion spouts installed. With two packages of these caps, there's no more issues with a floppy protruding spout. The caps also make storing the full/empty jugs far more convenient. The spouts now only get installed when I need to pour the fuel.FYI, leave the vent hole on the jug open during the Summer months if using the caps. Vaporized fuel will pressurize and bloat the jugs.
