Depending on how you use it.I found that it was possible to get a really good seal with this. I think the integrated gasket does allow it to be drop free ... BUT you have to be very careful about centering the gasket on the can and strong tightening. The gasket is not as soft as I would have liked. In my case, I alternate between using a battery fuel transfer pump for a lawn tractor and using the funnel for a small lawnmower. Since this is easy to slightly misalign and get drips, I've decided it isn't the best for my application, but I believe it would be good for a one time align and just use the spill proof cap on the funnel, which does work well.

Works perfectly. We live far from a gas station so we rely on gas cans occasionally when we're not sure we can make it back to the gas station. This fits on our gas can perfectly and makes it easy to add gas to the cars. It also works great for our lawn mower and go cart. So glad we got this because before we used a tiny one that spilled a lot and was very awkward. Very happy with these gas can spouts.

I have had my old gas can for many years and this year the spout finally gave out. I figured would have to purchase a new can but thankfully I found this replacement and it works PERFECTLY. I even put the container on its side and not a drop spilled out.

Perfect replacement for broken gas tank spout. With the included drill bit I was able to setup gas tank better than before the government put all those stupid regulations in place for gas cans.

My 5 gallon gas can had a fancy pouring spout that opened and closed when I squeezed the handle, but at some point the mechanism jammed in the open position which is not safe for storage, and it would leak at the base of the hose. I found this simple, two pack replacement spout and ordered it.The base cap comes in two different thread sizes. It looks like my original cap falls somewhere in between the two options (pic). The small threaded cap would not thread on very much, but the larger threaded cap did go all the way down so I went with that one. My can did not have a vent cap so I was glad that this one came with one. It also came with the correct drill size for installing the vent cap. If I could change anything about this product it would be to angle the hose at the cap instead of coming straight out, but I’m sure I’ll adjust to this after a few times of use. It’s only three stars for an issue that Amazon won’t let me mention.

Has everything you need to give your old gas cans a new life. With those horrible EPA mandated new gas can spouts that are a pain in the butt to use and eventually make it harder to use than it needs to be, this old school spout makes life so much easier. Came with everything I needed to retrofit my gas jugs into a hassle free usable jug again. I'm a big fan of having the white nozzle, especially if you're running mixed gas in a jug. Just makes it easier to see as I'm pouring. Oh and did I mention, it doesn't leak while pouring any more. So glad I found these.

Well @$#^ that didn’t work. Replacement spout is too long and cap is on the wrong end. These “Midwest Cans” are diabolically designed to defeat you at every turn. Unfortunately Midwest Can is all you can get around here. It stands to reason if the vapors can’t get out the gas can’t get out either

It was time to replace that funky, environmentally-friendly-but-user-unfriendly spout on the 2.5 gallon gas can.OLD: Of particular interest was replacement of a) the spout, b) the gear-toothed course-threaded cap while c) keeping the spout replacement cap. (see picture with 3 pieces)NEW: flexible, simple-and-easy-to-use spout, end of spout cap, the two course-threaded caps and the spout replacement cap from the OLD setup. (see picture with 5 pieces). To insure the gas flows freely I used the provided drill bit to install the yellow vent cap at the rear of the handle.Attached are a couple photos of the NEW components in use. By taking the spout off and installing the spout replacement cap this can fits nicely in a carrying box in the trunk of the car.
