Dude, I never knew I needed this! It showed up in my recommendations, otherwise I'd never have known it existed. I cook and reheat a lot of single portions, which is all fine, but I just remodeled my kitchen with a pro gas stove, and my smaller pans are super wobbly on the grates. One wrong move and they're hanging off the side! This is perfect for that. Plus, I always felt like I wasted energy with the flames flaring over the sides of my pans. This fixes that too, because it covers the whole flame and heats the pan evenly – things cook way faster. The handle detaches easily, which is great for safety, but honestly, I never take it off. I bet the handle will end up in that drawer where stuff disappears forever. This thing's staying put on the stovetop.

This worked really well as a heat diffuser. I put butter in a skillet on top of this diffuser, and turned the flame on medium. The butter slowly melted with no burning. I scrambled eggs and when done, turned the flame off and left the pan on the diffuser while I finished the toast. The remaining heat from the diffuser kept the eggs warm but not overcooked. I see lots of uses for this, including simmering spaghetti sauce without all of the splatter.

With so many different pots, pans, and meal requests flying around in our kitchen, having a heat diffuser like this one just makes things easier. It’s been parked on the stove since it arrived, and that’s exactly where it’ll stay. We didn’t bother attaching the handle since we’re not moving it around much, it’s more like a permanent fixture now. It’s great for simmering without worrying about hot spots or scorching, especially when we’re juggling a few dishes at once. It helps even out the heat for our older pans and keeps things from bubbling over or burning before they’re done. We’ve also used it to gently warm leftovers. It can even thaw out meat when someone forgets to take it out of the freezer (which happens more often than I’d like to admit). It’s not too thick or heavy and has a nice coating that wipes clean easily. Nothing flashy, but it’s doing its job well and quietly, which is sometimes exactly what we need.

Boy am I glad I got this heat diffuser plate.It’s especially good for reheating food - or cooking pizza (I put baking paper on top of it).It’s spreads the heat evenly, preventing hot spots.When reheating pasta, it’s wonderful, because otherwise the pasta can burn easily on the hotspots.It’s well made, and can fold to store away or hang from a hook.Excellent quality and value.
