I have been using these for the past month or so as they came standard in a board I'm reviewing. When the option came to try and individual set I jumped, were they going to be as good, better?I'm delighted to say, just like the ones in the board these are super smooth, well lubed and feel fantastic! They have a nice poppy sound that to me brings out the sound of whatever board it's in quite well. In an FR4 or harder plate they give a little more clack while on a softer plate they sound a little deeper. If you like an average to light feeling linear that will allow for good RGB performance you definitely need to consider this switch!

These are great! I'd recommend them, I only wish they'd come in a set that could atleast fill most smaller keyboards, they sound really nice and are good quality, I'd highly recommend.

Excellent switch quality, as I've come to expect from Gaterons.

Really nice switches. Solid linears with little resistance. They look really nice too. If you're a weirdo that wants to match your switch colors to a certain aesthetic, these are the ones.

I've been getting into custom mechanical keyboards, and switches are a huge part of that. I wanted to try some new linear switches for a build that were smooth and had a moderate actuation force. These GATERON Zero switches, rated at 45gf, fit the bill perfectly. This pack of 35 was enough for a smaller board I was working on.These are linear switches, meaning they feel consistent all the way down without a tactile bump or click. The 45gf force is a nice middle ground – not too light that you actuate accidentally, but not so heavy it causes finger fatigue. The smoothness right out of the box is impressive; there's very little friction noticeable, which makes for a really pleasant typing or gaming experience. They are compatible with standard MX-style mechanical keyboards and have the slot for SMD LEDs if your board supports backlighting. Swapping them into my hot-swappable PCB was easy. The sound profile is a nice, relatively quiet thock depending on your keycaps and board case. If you're looking for smooth, medium-weight linear switches for your mechanical keyboard and like the feel of Gaterons, these Zero switches are a great option. I'm really happy with how they feel and perform.

These keyboard switches provide a smooth and consistent typing experience. The linear feel is responsive without being too noisy, making them ideal for both typing and gaming. The key actuation force feels balanced, offering just the right amount of resistance. They’re easy to install and fit well in compatible mechanical keyboards. Overall, a great option for those seeking a reliable, quiet typing experience.

I like trying different key switches and caps, and I usually prefer tactile switches for typing. I do, however, like to use linear switches for cursor controls (aka arrow keys) -- but I do like a little heft to them. These feel a tiny bit firmer than the cherry silvers and silent reds I have, but these are more to my liking. Either way, these still have a buttery smooth feel.Of course feel is heavily dependent on the keycap weight, gasket mounting, or other mods your keyboard has. I tested these on a gasket mounted keyboard and found them very easy to actuate, and light to the touch when used with lightweight keycaps. My main keyboard is a modified Keychron with 70g tactiles that have nylon housings with very heavy SA keycaps, and I found these fit in well as the switches for the arrow keys while being smoother and a bit lighter to actuate, but within tolerance for my typing preferences as they actuate. One difference I did notice is that I prefer white backlighting, when possible, and these housings slightly altered the light so the keys were a bit different in color (bluer). Switching to a static red backlighting scheme made everything look fairly uniform, but if you’re a white LED person you should know that you may see a difference. The lubrication was good and I didn’t feel the need to clean and re-lube these switches, but your sensitivity to lubrication will determine your needs for lubrication. As is, these seemed excellent to me - at least with the batch that my switches were taken from.Sound wise, I like deeper, more authoritative keyboards in the “thock” range, and these were definitely not as thick sounding as my nylon housing key switches. I did, however, like them for gaming when used as cursors or WASD switches. If you have preferences for specific key switches you know what you like, and I hope my comments help if you’re thinking about these. I am considering these for a dedicated gaming keyboard with heavy keycaps, but that just means I have too many options! 5/5 stars.
